I expect he'll finish the game with 21 on 8-11 while JT and JB will drop 24 a piece on 9-23.
I know its human nature for most peoples minds to be slow and not like change, but Porzingis really is the Celtics best player when HEALTHY. Which realistically he probably wont be for long.
It wont be a narrative pushed by the media bc we know Perk and Wilbon and Stephen A and Kenny Smith and GOBB and Gilbert Arenas etc arent gonna acknowledge it. Therefore the common pleb here isnt gonna feel confident recognizing it. But it's just simply the actual truth. Teams cannot match up with him. Hes their best scorer.

Ofc just as I say that KP cans two buckets. Hes 20 points on 6-9 now.
JB 15 points on 6-11.
Tatum 7 points on 2-4. Theyre up 14, he'll finish with more shots than everyone by the time this is over.

Still killing it from the post. Shoots a high percentage, draws a ridiculous amount of fouls, and rarely turns it over. Fits perfectly into that five-out Boston offense, punishing switches in the half-court set and cross-matches from the open court.
- 3.2 post-up possessions per game (10th in the NBA)
- 1.24 points per possession (1st in the NBA [minimum 1.5 possessions per game])
- 54.2% eFG, 30% FTr, 4.3% TO
His rim protection has been elite as always:

Listen OP, let me break it down for you since I know you're a KP supporter (I remember you were just as excited as us Knicks fans about him back in the day)... KP is fragile and can't handle the workload of taking the most shots on the team. He'll break down or get injured. Who cares about regular season, they need him in the playoffs. Just accept that.

Tbh I didnt know much about him or see much of him in the Knicks days. I really didnt have much of an opinion of him, I figured a 7'2 guy with a jumper had some potential but I didnt follow him very closely.
I saw him a bit more in Dallas and wasnt overly impressed. He was a pretty ineffective player in the post at that time and his outside shooting was good but it didnt floor me. It was really in his Washington stint where I noticed him finding his groove. And then obviously continued with the Celtics.
It feels like he always starts games out going gangbusters. His memorable Finals Game 1 last year. He's been doing it a bunch this year. But then they just dont go to him much for long stretches, even when hes hot. My point is just that if HE were the tenured Celtic and established star, they would be going to him throughout the game like other teams' stars and hed easily be averaging 30+ on good efficiency. Hes that good now and it's flying pretty under the radar because hes missed so much time AND his attempts are limited when he does play. He's often getting the third, fourth, even fifth amount of attempts in a given game.
I dont buy that less shots per game reduces his injury risk. He still has to move around and bang regardless of whether he gets the shot or not.
His defense is great too as everyone knows. His long arms are disruptive not just on shots but in the passing lanes. He stymies a lot of 1 on 1, 2 on 1, 3 on 2 fast breaks that should be easy conversions for the opponent. If he were consistently healthy and getting first option opportunities I think he would be clearly producing like a top 10 player. And probably closer to #5 than 10.

Except this didn't happen, and if you dig into the stats he takes 3 less FGA than Brown/4 less than Tatum per 100 possessions, and that's with him missing over half the games this season, so when he does actually play the same minutes as these guys and they're all out there together he gets almost an equal amount of opportunities to score on most nights.
If he was healthy he'd be their best player because of how efficient he is with all the spacing around him.

I think Zingis must be somewhat annoying outside the court, because we've seen this everywhere he's played, maybe except Washington, but then again, we saw Wemby getting the exact same treatment.
I think the manlets just don't like admitting that 7'+ with a shot pretty much makes them obsolete except as passers.

Well I certainly wasnt about to watch Boston play a Philly team with a starting lineup of Maxey and nobody, so I cant attest to how Tatum actually played. But a good shooting night doesnt mean he was playing smart. And even if he was, I know for sure he doesnt always. But if this is big time personal redemption for you, do your thang boi.
