Helicopter seems to be at fault. The plane was on the correct course for landing.

Could the helicopter pilot purposely crashed into the plane? The traffic controller warned them but there's no answer from the chopper pilot.

Sounds like a radio failure, or maybe a health issue with the pilot. :(

Night time training mission with an unexperienced pilot apparently. He did confirm that he was to look out for the passenger airplane, but he may have been looking at the plane that took off from the airport as is seen on the crash video. I still find it hard to believe that there wasn't more of an alarm from the ATC that they were still on a collision course.

My biggest fear flying is over the ocean at night. Think about it, if it's over land, then the end is pretty quick once you hit land. Over the ocean, good chance you can survive the initial impact, now you're alive in the dark and cold depths of the ocean, sharks picking you off, or hyporthermia could set in, drown etc etc Nah, get it over quick, man :(
RIP to those poor souls.

I'm confident you're dying immediately making contact at full speed with the ocean as well. You're still in a collision going hundreds of miles an hour.
The wreckage on planes that hit the water is as devastating as ones that crash over land.

Yea up to a certain height, which is way less that what planes fly at, an impact with water is basically the same as concrete.
The issue that I also share with flying over the ocean at times is that if you DID happen to survive the impact (which is again, very unlikely), you'll almost certainly drown right away due to injuries sustained.

What plane do you know that crashed into the ocean and passengers survived initially only to be devoured by sharks? Either scenario you presented your dead on impact. At least at night you can look out the window and see your end nearing fast. Night time you can’t see anything and might be asleep.

I remember that crash. Obama had just become President a couple of weeks or so earlier, and shook hands with one of the victims in January, at the White House, a 911 widow. One person died on the ground, a guy sitting in his living room. I looked up the MySpace of one of the person who lived in the house, and the last comment was recent, and so normal. I think a comment about the next day or so, and she had no idea how much her life was going to change. I checked again a day or so later, the MySpace was deleted.

The Baron Trump prophecy was written a long long time ago...
Lockwood published the first novel, Travels and adventures of Little Baron Trump and his wonderful dog Bulger, in 1889, and its sequel, Baron Trump's Marvellous Underground Journey, in 1893. The novels recount the adventures of the German boy Wilhelm Heinrich Sebastian Von Troomp, who goes by "Baron Trump", as he discovers weird underground civilizations, offends the natives, flees from his entanglements with local women, and repeats this pattern until arriving back home at Castle Trump.
The novels were part of a trend in U.S. children's literature that responded to the demand for fantastic adventure stories triggered by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865). They were, however, indifferently received and did not enter the canon of children's literature. An 1891 reviewer wrote about one of Lockwood's novels: "The author labors through three hundred pages of fantastic and grotesque narrative, now and then striking a spark of wit; but the sparks emit little light and no warmth, and one has to fumble for the story."

The general public doesn't have a decent grasp of what a "cyber attack" can do. The world wide web is exactly that, a "web". And just like a spider's web you could throw a rock at it, and a chunk would be missing. But the web as a whole would still be standing.
There is no one single attack that can take down ALL of our finances simply because we are set up on a plethora of different systems that would all require different attacks coded for each one.
An attacker or group of attackers could take out one bank's system. But that attack wouldn't work for ALL of our banks. Or they could maybe they could take down ONE power grid. But not ALL of them.
The idea that there could be one single cyber attack that could effectively shut down the entire globe in some way, is highly unlikely.

I just watched this entire video. And while there are some spooky parallels, I do think there are a couple very key elements that keep it from being a direct correlation to today.
1. First off the POTUS in that book is "Barron Trump" and not Donald. If we are supposed to take this as though Barron will be POTUS in the future? If so that is a long time from now. He is only 18 years old. Min age to be POTUS is 35 and the youngest POTUS ever was 42 (Roosevelt).
2. It sounds like the entire theme of the book is "rich vs poor" and there is some of that today. But our great divide is not based around wealth. There are poor and rich on both sides. Trump doesn't represent the wealthy, he represents rural USA. Our divide is based around political view points. Racial, Gender, LGBT, issues. Gun laws, abortion, immigration, etc. We do have a rich vs poor issue, but our divide is not centered around that like it is in the book.

"Baron Trump's Marvelous Underground Journey" introduces readers to the eponymous protagonist, who lives in Castle Trump. Depicted as an intelligent and curious, yet arrogant presence, the child finds his mentor in a man named Don. The young boy's fantastical adventures through magical portals even lead him down to Russia. His full name, Wilhelm Heinrich Sebastian Von Troomp, hints at German roots, which mirrors the real-life Trump family's German ancestry.
Trump ‘Last President’ theory
Much like the recent turn of events that brought Donald Trump back to power, "The Last President" book leads with the vision of a controversial and chaotic election in New York City -- the Republican leader's hometown. Scenes portray protestors taking up arms against the election of a populist president. Notably, they lead their protests to Fifth Avenue, where present-day Trump Tower stands. Adding to the list of uncanny similarities, the book president ends up appointing a man named Pence for his administration.

It is definitely weird. But if trying to align it to today? I don't think the central theme of the book (rich vs poor) is aligned to our Trump who supposedly represents rural America. But perhaps that will be Barron's role 30 years from now. A POTUS that has all of the wealthy behind him while the other guy has all the poor.
The Elon thing is weird too. Maybe some of us do posses a bit a precognition and we are just unaware of it. We create things without realizing they are glimpses into the future.

There's another one from a dashcam that looks horrific too.

Seen that one too. There's clips on X of body parts from people on the plane.
At first I thought it was a missile as many others are speculating on X, but that plane is a Learjet and those planes are like corvettes up there in the air with how fast they can go.

What plane do you know that crashed into the ocean and passengers survived initially only to be devoured by sharks? Either scenario you presented your dead on impact. At least at night you can look out the window and see your end nearing fast. Night time you can’t see anything and might be asleep.

I admit I haven't been following this news that deeply but why did Trump blames DEI? Was the air traffic controller a minority or what?

No but apparently a bunch of highly qualified air traffic controllers had their applications cancelled some years ago, over which there is a current active lawsuit, because the field or the candidates or whatever was deemed to be "too white" (an actual quote from Obama on the issue at the time), so they basically denied this group of a thousand white air traffic controller job candidates and never replaced them and have been understaffed ever since as a result.
Being understaffed isn’t the reason the helicopter smacked the airliner. If they had more ATC that night on the clock. One ATC is still communicating with both the helicopter and airliner. This was unfortunate human error and the fact they allow helicopter in the outgoing and incoming traffic is moronic. Blame the fact that’s been allowed.

Because not enough employees. HR want to hire more diversity but no applicants so understaff. But they turn away qualified peepol because they white. Very racist decision

I didnt say it was the reason for the crash.
I was explaining the specific issue Trump was referencing in his comments connecting DEI with the crash. The poster asked what Trump's comment was alluding to. There is a factual understaffing of air traffic controllers due to race based hiring quotas, and thats what Trump was alluding to. I was not personally asserting it caused this specific tragedy.

It's crazy to me that the pilots didn't even seem to see the helicopter, they legitimately flew directly into it, it didn't even seem like they attempted any kind of maneuver to avoid it.
And I'm sure it's easy to say this in hindsight, but flying military aircraft at an already incredibly busy airport doesn't seem like a wise choice. They're not even on the same radar as commercial planes, so they have to rely on ATC or their field of vision to determine their location.
But sadly, it takes tragic events like this to make the necessary changes to improve safety.

There’s videos that show the flight paths of both. The pilots wouldn’t have been able to see the helicopter coming because it was below and started ascending where they were descending. The helicopter didn’t see the plane because they locked on another flight they assumed was the one ATC mentioned. They didn’t have good view from their peripherals which is where plane came from

I can't believe the helicopter didn't see that massive headlight right in front of them. And the helo has better maneuverability than the plane does in order to get out of the way. Pilot error all the way from those on the helo. Just a dumb crash in general and a sad loss of life for everyone involved. Hopefully it was quick and people weren't drowning while submerged in complete darkness.

The plane light wasn’t in front of them. It came from the side.

i wonder too but unfortunately that may have been the case if the explosion from the impact didn't kill them outright. otherwise the airplane's fuselage likely broke into two or more pieces upon impact and sent those contained passengers straight into the river. although depending on how high uo they were the impact with the water would have killed them swiftly too. so many factors to consider. should make for an interesting air disasters/mayday episode in the future lol.

I feel like everybody must've died when they collided, that was a massive explosion.
One I've always wondered about is TWA Flight 800, the nose of the plane broke off right after takeoff, idk if everyone died instantly being exposed to the elements, or if they were actually alive while their plane was flying through the air rudderless for over 30 seconds.

no idea man but 'air disasters' always did a thorough job covering these kind of stories. i'm sure they cover that at some point. great series regardless, would recommend.

The biggest blame is the helicopter and airline routes all crossing one another. The airplane did everything right.

This was the first thing I thought when I saw it. It just seems like asking for it to run that kind of testing so close to a runway.
I actually got a phone call from the authorities about this. I sign off on critical parts for the Blackhawk.

they just found the cessna wreckage in alaska, the plane had been missing for almost a day.
- blackhawk and AA airplane
- philly
- f35 goes down inexplicably (pilot ejected safely though)
- alaska cessna carrying 9 passengers, *possibly* due to inclement weather
what's going on? the most recent may just be weather and since the other 3 have garnered natonwide attention, it may just be a result of the news being over-zealous with any plane related incident.

i'm not implying a conspiracy theory, but rather safety guidelines being flexible in manufacturing of the planes themselves, maintenance, and flight operations. sounds like the ATC was understaffed but also the blackhawk had a safety feature disabled? do we even have a cause for the philly flight beyond "freak accident"? alaskan airplane was most likely due to inclement weather but what about the f35 in alaska falling out of the air?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRt-On2imcA
between poisson distribution (incidents happen closely together according to statistics principles) and increased media coverage to this particular topic, it may seem out of the norm i suppose, but it's still out of the norm even if there have been millions of flights this year.

Don’t worry that Mexican dumbass. He not fly anyways… too poor. Overreaction is right, America overall decrease in airplane incident overall. Some fluctuation normal, why we have standard deviation statistics. That Mexican not know too stoopid and fat. Only know how to use quick square
