I’m assuming LaMelo and Wagner were punished for missing games. That or coaches just don’t care for them. I could see that being the case for LaMelo. Though I don’t even know if that’s still how it works. I’m fairly out of touch on the issue.

Well Lamelo was probably punished for his team being in the cellar. The coaches seem to follow a "reward winning" model which Im personally not crazy about. Im fine with it in Lamelo's case because his team is really REALLY bad and Im very skeptical he IS a winner, but the example Im thinking of is Sengun over Sabonis. I dont like that. Sabonis is the better player right NOW, and hes having a great season. Hes in his prime and hes basically a more polished version of Sengun. But Houston is winning so they felt they had to send a Houston player as a result. To me thats questionable. It's a big snub to Domas and the way hes played this season. Alperin has plenty of future ahead of him, Sabonis is in his prime. He should get that recognition.

It's also interesting to me the coaches went with Harden over his teammate Norman Powell. I guess it just depends how you look at it but Id have figured Harden to be a guy the coaches would be inclined to exclude if they could justify it.

Lamelo missed a bunch of games on a terrible team where he's just taking a load of bad shots with the #1 usage rating in the league. Raw numbers look good and he'd be fun to watch in an ASG but he doesn't deserve it over those guys.
