There's no way the Lakers did this so that Luca and Lebron can be a tag team. They don't compliment each other too much and where is the size and defense?
Lebron never lets anyone ride his wave, never. His ego is way too strong to take a backseat to Luca. Way too strong to just be a mentor. Lebron is going to do what he always does. Be the GM and leader of the team and blame the 2nd best player. Luca is actually the best player but not in Lebron's mind. Lebron will always be the man on the team if it's under his watch. No matter what.
So let's get that out of the way. This is an exit strategy. That is why they didn't tell Lebron. They did him a favor actually. They know this is the way out.

LeBron has a big reputation, and big media presence, but he absolutely doesn’t have some big ego. He has a very fragile ego, akin to so many boys who grew up fatherless.
LeBron will be more than happy about taking Luka to fat camp and sharing a MF bunk bed with him, metaphorically. He will relish the mentor role. Relish the friendship. Relish the silliness during practices. So long as there is also genuine greatness occurring. Which there will be.

Something wrong with you boi. Lebron has mentored an entire generation of players and goes out of his way to help improve anyone on his squads that's the whole reason you dumb****s overrated them to this day. Does he have an ego? Sure he does, no player at that level of success is without one. But you have no clue wtf you're talking about besides salt shaking, which is so weak looking 20 something odd years in.....
