I know Middleton hasn't been healthy in years, but you figure they could've done a lot better than Kuzma. I would not want that dude on my team, he's a total clown in the midst of a horrible year.

So the most important question: does this put them ahead of Boston? I think, at this stage of Middleton's career, Kuzma is more of a challenge to Tatum and Brown. He's mainly been comic relief in Washington but he did help Lakers win a championship. And they got this done without losing Bobby Portis.

And I hope you're right. But Middleton is done, he's had to many injuries. The Bucks basically got Kuzma for nothing.
Kind of nasty to dump Middleton in Washington but that's business. Maybe he'll get a buy-out or something, might be suited to being a 10 mpg shooter off the bench kind of guy.

Not sure how this is possible, Middleton's salary is like 25% higher than Kuz and the Wizards are over the cap. The move doesnt work on the trade machine.

Bucks are doing this for cap reasons. Kuzma is on a reasonable declining contract which will get them out of the 2nd apron.
I think Kuzma can be useful on a team when he doesn't have the green light to jack up shots whenever he wants. He can actually play good D when he wants to.
But no this isn't really moving the needle for the Bucks lol.

I believe we have a trade exception that is part of the deal.

He was a stud midrange clutch scorer before all the problems.

We'll see if this ignites Kuzma becuase he's having a downer year. He was averaging 22 the last couple years before this season.

This is a solid trade for both the Bucks and obviously Kuzma. I think it's clear that he isn't the type of guy who should be taking 18 shots and scoring 22 a game.
However, he can be very useful in that defense/rebounding/transition/hustle department on a team with guys who can score.
I like it.

They're going to miss Middleton. Kuz is absolute garbage... his stats are inflated by chucking. Not to mention his off court antics. Enjoy Wisconsin Kuz

ye, surprised people are shitting on it, but anyone who plays w/ Bron gets shit on, like DLo etc.
I think it's a solid move given that Khris is prol gonna be injured come playoff time.
It makes them better. How much, who knows.

coaching staff for the Bucks as well as trainer are top notch of the league.
Kuman will find his mid range spots , weak side offense , and periodic 3 ball.
His defense will be the key .. they will work with him.
Middleton is free agent this summer .. so could sign with Bucks to finish career.
** going to Washington is like rehab for him , and I expect next year he will be the weapon he has always been.

True. And then because of that Bron haters prop them up ridiculously.
Very difficult to have a real conversation about someone who has played with Lebron, no matter how long :lol

I accept that Middleton's unplayable at this point, but Kuzma's never been known as an impactful player in his own right. Why not just stand pat if you can't get a better trade?
It also seems downright disrespectful to Khris. You trade the second-best player on your last championship to the worst team in the league? Gotta reward loyalty better than that as a small-market team. Business is business, but at least try to make more profitable moves than this if you're going to be soulless.
Maybe Kuzma will be more useful in a backseat role, though I can't help but feel the Bucks need to make some follow-up moves to make it worthwhile. Only time will tell.

People are forgetting that Kuzma was the third-best player on the last Laker championship team. He's no superstar but if he buys in to his role (which it should be noted he didn't do in Washington) he can help the Bucks.

bucks will... But Middleton could be on the Bucks roster in a year or two .. think of this as rehab time for him... him off bench with Portis , Gary, and AJ were pretty good.

:facepalm
No he absolutely wasn't, did you even watch that team? KCP, Caruso, D12 and Rondo were all better. He was more of a hindrance than anything in that playoff run.

I bet he could be great in a Heat Ray Allen role.

Not even close. He was an afterthought in the playoffs. Guys like Rondo, Pope, Caruso, & even Dwight in the Denver series stood out more.

this trade also included a kicker , which was a 26 year old center from Knicks .. who will get playing time , along side now PF Portis in his normal position.

Kuzma has never been better than Alex Caruso in his life. Or Danny Green for that matter. Or KCP. LA fell off a cliff for a reason, and it wasn't losing Kuzma.

Middleton, has an 18 PER and 63 TS%. Tiers over Kuzma. He's on a minutes restriction due to his ankles. He isn't even in a groove yet and he's played that well.
Unplayable is absolute nonsense. He'll kill in Washington and get moved to a contender in a year.

I forgot Danny Green, damn, Kuzma was like the 9th best player on that roster :oldlol: LBJ, AD, D12, Caruso, KCP, Rondo and Danny Green were all clearly better, and I'd argue Markieff Morris and JaVale McGee were better as well tbh. Kuzma has always stank, people get fooled because he shoots a lot.

Injured is the worst thing you can be nowadays. Think about how serious tech and medicine is now; if they can't keep someone on the floor, something is wrong.

Is he a #1? No, but as a third option, he could be a nice addition.

If not for Nico Harrison, we’d be looking at the worst trade of the year by far.

The inexcusable part is being 6'9 playing 21 minutes and not getting one rebound. That means you just aren't trying.
