Losing Wiggins will hurt a little, but good riddance for Schroeder. If Butler can stay healthy, could be interesting.

I guess with the league-rigging going mostly Wemby and Lebron's direction, this is the best the Warriors could muster - presumably an upgrade of Wiggins

Miami fleeced them. Wiggins was their 2nd best player this year. Butler is 35. :lol

Warriors need to accept the fact that they can't compete for titles anymore

Interesting. Jimmy didn't get what he wanted in the end. Hehe.

Miami is not going to be better though. So it was anything but a fleecing.

Miami made out ok. Definitely didn't get a star replacement for Butler but Wiggins is a guy that they can put on Tatum and the defense has to respect on the other end. Warriors on the other end get to launch a Hail Mary for a championship in the twilight of Curry's career. I don't think they can beat OKC but they should be interesting if nothing else. A team with Curry is always dangerous and Butler is probably also still dangerous. I am expecting them to either shock the world and make the conference finals or for Butler and Dray Green to get into a fistfight in the middle of play-in flameout. No middle ground.

Wiggy is the best player in that deal so Miami indeed did the fleecing.. jimmy barely ever played this season.

Jimmy baby di.ck buckets can rot in piss, tired of hearing about that crybaby diva.

i mean, he wasn't playing and would have walked in the off-season so...at least MIA got some assets out of it :applause:

Wiggins is a bad loss for the Warriors. Complemented Steph so well.

Glad the Warriors moved Schroeder, that move to get him made zero sense for them. He will fit well in Miami as will Wiggins.

Edit: nvm, Dennis going to Utah.

Of course they are. They just gave up a 35 year old who was never going to play for them again for a Wiggins, two other role players & potential 1st round pick.

Damn. I guess he did get what he wanted.

He better be motivated as hell and play his ass off because this isn't the Eastern Conference. Jimmy will have to play more if GSW has any shot to make the playoffs let alone get out of the play-in.

The Miami Heat are trading Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors, CBS Sports NBA insider Bill Reiter confirmed. The deal comes on the eve of the 2025 NBA trade deadline and will send Butler to the Bay Area in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round pick. The Jazz, Pistons and Raptors are also part of this multi-team trade, per reports, and the deal is still being finalized. An important trade detail was reported minutes after news of the deal broke: Butler and the Warriors have agreed to a two-year, $111 million contract extension, ESPN reports. The contract runs through the 2026-27 season.

The Warriors will hope the deal gives Stephen Curry and Draymond Green the veteran co-star that they need to seriously compete for a fifth championship. The Heat get to start fresh after a tumultuous season with their former star forward.

So they've got Jimmy for 3 1/2 years unless it doesn't work out and he wants to move again.

Great pickup for the Warriors honestly. Butler is a big upgrade over Wiggins come playoff time.

Butler's age doesn't matter cause Warriors are in win-now mode for Steph.

It’s a high risk move. Butler is obviously an upgrade over Wiggins but his age is a big issue. Although Curry is old too. So Butler and Curry’s windows coincide with each other. If Playoff Jimmy still has enough in the tank for a few good series and Curry can get hot, they could turn into a team that could make some noise in the playoffs. Need some better spacing still.

It’s nice they kept Kuminga too.

I do think GSW will be a team to watch. But I'm not sure they can get themselves into a favorable enough position. The grind of the regular season and playoff matchups out west is a different beast.

Warriors are getting snuffed out by the 11 win Jazz. Definitely “a team to watch”

Warriors gonna be kinda sad. Teaming 37 year olds butler, Steph and draymond is giving me pierce, Garnett and Jason terry in Brooklyn vibes.

I'll be honest I dont see the personalities clicking here particularly, if I'm wrong Ill admit as much but this feels desperate. I know they didnt give away any youth but I have a feeling theyre gonna be in for some disappointment and potentially some drama that wont be easy to escape from given the extension they just gave The Butla.

This is my thinking. Spolstra is going to get the best out of Wiggins and even Schroeder. They got much better.

Jimmy is going to butt heads with Draymond in a week or two.

They only extended him one year basically. His player option was $52 million.

It is a gamble but just a short term gamble.

True.... but at this point of his career and attitude, I question how much he still cares about winning.

people think this trade was a Warrior trade... but Miami just land Wiggins who is averaging same as Butler, and is 4-6 years younger.
I consider Miami winner of this trade.
They get Tucker as well .. to solidify corner shooting and tough defense.

Warriors gave up a lot for Butler ... lets see who shows up a rebounding Butler... or a perimeter watcher. :confusedshrug:

The other option is standing pat and relying on Wiggins. Neither option is that attractive.

Butler cares about winning. He just misses a lot of games and is a pain in the ass of he isn't getting his way. This deal makes sense for the Warriors because they're desperate but most teams would not hand him another hundred mil.

Wiggins is going to go back to underachieving like usual with Miami. They're gonna be a tanked out team for years now and he's a low motor player.

Does suck Butler is this old though... maybe he still has it though, this guy coasts the regular season and shows up in the playoffs when it matters.

This is how I see it. A gamble but not a franchise sinker. He’s obviously much better than Wiggins and they didn’t really give up much for him at all. Jimmy’s contract is kinda excessive but it ends when Curry and Draymond’s do. His advanced age and him having only 1 or 2 more years is fitting into a timeline of the Warriors.

So yes it’s an overpay but if you look at all the circumstances, it’s not that bad.

They have very similar energy so I'd imagine great. Butler doesn't like soft players... dray may be reckless and unskilled, but he's not soft.

Curry-ball will just turn him into a moving screensetter, as well as make him unclutch in the playoffs. It would be unfortunate once those happen. :ohwell:
