The franchise has evolved into being the ACTUAL graveyard for teams who need to get rid of someone. You go to the Wiz with someone whose playing value is deceased and for a fee theyll take ownership of the body and their team of experts will do the embalming, burial preparations, and disposal.
I wanna see a name change to the Washington Undertakers. Lease the image rights from the WWF Undertaker and make that the mascot.
Make it HAPPEN, Michael Winger.

Poole has actually had a decent season. Brogdon will get bought out most likely. We got assets for taking on Middleton and Smart so i am fine with it.

It's not a bad business to be in, Im just sayin... when teams have a player they cant use and nobody else will take... the Zards function as the funeral home. Theyre the experts in these sort of transactions. It's like their role in the NBA community. They have the experience in handling such matters and theyre who you go to.

"Hello, I have a player who's often injured, hes getting paid too much, and hes out of the rotation. We've called around to see if anyone wants him as a reclamation project, but no takers. We need to arrange for full morgue services."
Wiz: "Alright. We can do that. Here's a layout of the fee, the list of surcharges and optional extras..."

Would be epic if they made arrangements for players they traded for to be picked up from their departing cities in hearses and taken to the airport :lol

McCollum and Olynyk sent to the graveyard.
It's so funny to me that when teams feel a guy is washed and no longer useful, he's specifically sent to the Wizards. It really is like theyre functionally designated the morgue of the league.

And Ace Bailey and his camp apparently would…prefer to be there?

I understand it financially tbh.
Hes probably not a cornerstone for a winning team at the NBA level. If he gets drafted to the Sixers or someone trying to contend, he might not even see the floor much. And that will hamper his value when its extension time.
If hes more of a highlight player than a winning player you actually want him on a shit franchise (Wizards, Hornets) if youre his agent. Because they pay the players who seem marketable instead of the players who win.

Perhaps but I think the thought process has taken a turn a bit in the last few years. Strong or even decent "winning" contributors on good teams are more valued that stat guys on bad ones. If he were to go to Washington, they're terrible, and he puts up 22 a game in his extension year I don't think that does more for him that being on a stronger franchise but showing contributions in other ways.

I think the Hawks are a sleeper to trade for Papa Gian this offseason. They have a lot of assets a rebuilding team would value. Jalen Johnson, Okongwu, Asa Newell, the unprotected 2026 pick they got from New Orleans. Throw in another future first or two. They could still keep Daniels and Rischasher and have a very solid supporting cast around Ice Trae, Greek, and the Unicorn.
Thats a championship squad yo. And it doesnt seem like a super far fetched scenario IMO.
Your thoughts?

Very conflicted.
I don't know that a Giannis window is that huge at this point so trading Jalen in particular is not ideal, especially with all that has been stacked up. Next year is a stacked draft too and a top 3 pick is certainly not off the table. I think the Pacers showing that a well-constructed, well-coached, and gritty team can get you far and the Hawks are certainly on their way to being that type of squad.
On the other hand, it would be pretty fvcking sick having Giannis and the team COULD genuinely compete.
I'm wondering if the days of selling off everything for a potential ring with a huge star are starting to end.
Team full of second and third options.
And a quasi "#1" who is a straight up pretender. I remember certain fans massively overrated Poole and were convinced he was shackled in Golden State. Definitely turnt up in DC huh? lol

I never bought into Poole being a 1 and hated the trade. He was awful last year but was respectable this year. Apparently he was a positive influence on the young guys but I'm glad his gone.
Imagine thinking ace bailey on the sixers won’t see much time before an extension arrives. What sixers would be holding back Ace Bailey from producing the next 3 seasons???? Do people even think before typing? Seems like that’s a strong no. Paul George playing out the life of his contract here (3 years left final year player option) ain’t happening. Paul George also is not the one who Ace would need to beat out for minutes or to be a starter. Sixers are going to lose Yabu in free agency (probably Spurs). Kelly Oubre has until June 29th to decide if he’s picking up his option. And even then he can be traded. Justin Edwards is a guy Sixers have a team option on and will decide. Ace will play the wing, forward position in the NBA. Who on the Sixers will he struggle to see the floor and it affect a future extension (year 4)?

Addition by subtraction. Not sure what kind of personality he was. But Tre Johnson is a funny mofo. But not obnoxious about it how someone like Gilbert Arenas could be. I’m a fan I’ll be following his career. So long as he can be a willing defender which that’s still a question mark. Scoring, getting stonger, playmaker is legit. Don’t screw him over Wash org

During the season I posted about Tre a lot on a wizards board, to the point where one guy said my draft board must be:
1 Tre
2 Tre
3 Tre
4 Tre
Hahahaha that’s funny. I’ll say you influenced me into liking Tre by mentioning Tre here. I started watching videos of him and was like yeah he’s the real deal.

Hoping Miami can trade Rozier, cash and a 2nd for either Smart or Brogdon. I can't stand to see him throw another game for the HEAT.
