Brutal.

I was just checkin out the first half debut highlights before seeing this thread, guy was showin some stuff I dont even remember him doing on the Lakers. Looked like a certified skilled post player instead of just a birdfed finisher and offensive rebounder. Seemed crazy motivated. I was already looking forward to seeing more of this.

I genuinely wonder if it was the adrenaline plus taking his footwork game up a level that over stressed his body. Ofc I dont know what the injury is, Im just spitballing.

Reminds me of Cool Runnings where they go on an absolute tear of a run that ends up too good to be true, and it causes the bobsled to break.

Hope it ends up being nothing major.

Looks like a groin maybe.

Those are tough, they linger and can take a while to come back from. But obviously nothing like an acl or achilles. I think groins are usually a couple months layoff. Hopefully it's not even a groin pull but something less severe than that.

The comments are saying he got punched in the balls. Hopefully that's all it is.

2nd angle looks way worse.

What is dude made of to get hurt like that on such a basic non crazy or wild type movement?

Oof falls in first game with them. That's why mavs fans were disappointed to see this trade happening.

I was looking at it as super bad luck but he definitely could have been in the zone not realizing how hard he was pushing himself. He was going for a statement game and was right in the middle of it.

The groin and hamstring injuries do tend to get re-aggravated quite frequently. Once a player starts having one of those issues a lot of the times it will follow them for the rest of the season. Unless they shut down everything for a good amount of time, even then there is a risk. It takes awhile for them to fully heal and there’s not really two ways around it.

Well you did... you spread negative energy in his debut thread.

Doesn't look good. Seems like he'll be out for a few weeks. Groin pull.

fragile AD ,, knows how to make money ... and sit out with purpose...

End of Season , ad will complain , he was hurt all year and Dallas did not let him recover....

AD looked amazing in his debut. Minor injury but people are going to use it to pour gasoline on the fire. Mavs are a legitimate contender this year.

People should be blaming the new ownership not just Nico. Cuban would've never let this happen.

It's wild that AD began his time on the Mavericks and immediately got hurt
