If I remember correctly, this one wasn’t detected by NASA until after it entered our atmosphere and it was only 60 feet wide. The one they’re describing in the OP is around 300 feet wide, or one Axe.

3.2 percent chance now that it makes impact. Percentage has slowly increased since asteroid was first spotted.

I probably won't follow this until they collect more data. The expectation was once they get a year or two more data they can way more accurately see if it will hit or not once it's got it's orbit mapped out. And even then I think the projection was it would hit along the equator or southern hemisphere area?

If there's a high chance of a hit it will be interesting to see what plans NASA and SpaceX would have to try a deflection.

When probed for more on the size of the asteroid and asked to scale it for them with a unit of measurement. The scientist said “a chewing size” asteroid and proceeded to place their hands several feet apart(while making a sound as if the scientist was straining to stretch farther).
