If they could get even a few stars in it, it would comfortably replace the hype the dunk contest used to get.

I’ve posted the original ones from the 70s before where in the finals bob Lanier just bullied JoJo White and won pretty comfortably, but I feel like these days even the bigs would shy away from that because stupid fans barely consider that basketball.

It would be interesting even without the superstars. Every single one of them would get pestered about it.

it will be hard to get the stars for money the way the WNBA can because they pay 200,000 for the win when a lot of those women don’t even make 100,000. I don’t know what you’d have to pay in the NBA but I bet half a million would get over 100 people I’m sure. I just don’t know how many stars.

I bet guys like Jordan and Kobe would’ve jumped in just on general principal

True but who knows.

Here in ish, the deepthroating retard below you is a prime example of an obsessed homosexual who has an extremely fragile ego.

Kyrie wouldn’t come close to winning it tho. Embiid would, easily.

Great news tho.

Who would even win such a thing? A lot of it would come down to seeding/matchups. Unless everyone had to play everyone via round robin or something and we all know it'll never get that deep.

Jokic?

Embiid?

Giannis?

Luka?

Other?

Might also depend on the rules. Does a miss automatically count as a change of possession?

It would definitely be entertaining but ultimately it would serve as nothing more than banter fodder among uneducated fans that think that 1 on 1 means much of anything in a sport that is 5 on 5.

Most players wouldn't have the heart to go 1v1 on big stage because they'd be scared of getting shown up.

But to handle the size differentials there's a solution. We can have two weight classes, one < 240 lbs and one > 240 lbs. Make it take it by 2s and 1s could favor a smaller player too if they get hot.

Have to up the ante to way over a million though.

No way All-Stars are doing this?
Imagine Darius Garland playing and beating Dame Lillard.
Now, a guy like Dillion Brooks would definitely play.
So, those level of guys.

That is a good point

Top tier guys have nothing to gain and everything to lose.

It’s like a kicker attempting a 30 yard fg, gets no credit if he hits, gets huge heat if he misses

So it'd be like the slam dunk contest in which no
prominent superstars are participating nowadays, i guess.
