I'm honestly surprised things involving an extremity still cant be surgically cured with vein repairs or blood vessel replacements or whatever would be involved. There are so many incredible things we can do medically today, I would have thought saving a limb from (presumably) diabetes or the like would be one of them.

Looks like he's in good spirits anyway. I surmise a prosthesis would be an option down the line when the amputation heals. Hope so anyway.

End stage diabetes means your body has been beaten up for decades internally. Can't really just quick fix that.

They haven't even figured out how to replace cartilage yet.
