Luka Doncic need to be the one to bring the ball up every time, because he is the only one that doesnt gives the Lakers any off ball value. But he dont wanna completely take the reigns and act like he own the team when he just got there. He is trying to be a Nice Guy.

He need to tell his teammates 'Im going to chuck and ballhogs until I get my rhythm and start hitting my shots and get over that hump to have my confidence as a Laker.'
