Spurs announce Victor Wembanyama will miss remainder of the season with blood clot in right shoulder.

Last night I was thinking that I hope Wemby never suffers any serious injury, for the simple fact that he was given a rare height/opportunity and as such he has really tried to take care of himself by taking steps to prevent future injuries. And now he has a blood clot.

I hate to read this. Hopefully, he's able to most importantly get the necessary treatment and recover fully, then secondarily be able return to the game at full strength.

Wow. That's a gut punch.

Still, in the context of how much career he has ahead of him, *IF* this is something he can get resolved and cleared to play with by next season then missing these final 30 games will be nothing in the long run. Lets hope for the sake of his health as well as the sake of the sport this is something that can be managed.

It would be wild if this lead to them getting Flagg. They probably can't fall back hard enough for that but Wemby and Flagg would be a defensive core unlike anything the league has ever seen, especially if the Spurs made sure to only surround them with good defenders.

Listened to a doctor in NBA radio saying the blood clot itself isn't the reason they shut him down. The treatment of blood thinners is why he will be out. Blood thinners and contact sports don't mix
