He doesn't like physicality and he can't impose himself on defenders like Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem etc.

He's been figured out.

The 2020’s is the official decade of invalid opinions / Knee jerk reflexive overreaction, asserting themselves confidently on the internet.

Ya hate to see it.

He still had a good game. But offensively he struggled against LA

That’s what I’ve been saying for years, he’s a fat Euro slob like Luka, both incredibly overrated.

I dunno if he's overrated, but there are few guys in NBA history who can just be like IM GETTING 30 TONIGHT REGARDLESS and be able to do it. There are people who can get 30 usually, but guys who can just brute force their way to scoring are few and far between, and regardless of skillset, that matters when talking about the best of the best.

So, he's overrated as a guy who can carry a team offensively, imo. But some of that is just being a big. You have to be like Shaq or Wilt to do that as a big, and even then, they can collapse the whole team on you.

It's not lack of skill, he gets taken out of the game too easily if bullied physically.

He doesn't have the mentality like KP or Luka, where someone tries to bully you just get more aggressive.

He could easily not bring the ball up and just get position and get fouls, but he doesn't, because he likes to play a softer game.

You're overreacting a bit bud.

I will say this though... even though he's looked great all year with jokic Westbrook is going to kill the Nuggets in the playoffs. Teams can basically use Westbrook and Gordon's man to triple team jokic. It would be way better if they had some 3nD role player instead.

He's a big guy. I don't think in a series he'll get bullied. He needs better spacing. Some of the spacing in that Bron23 vid were laughably bad. The Lakers just collapsed on him and the other people weren't ready. And other times spacing was OK, they just threw the ball away.

The last time anyone attempted to bully Jokic it was one of the Morris twins. We saw how that went. Any kind of soft European stereotype is the furthest thing from the truth. Not sure if that's what OP was talking about there but it's hard to make sense out of this thread to begin with.

he sucker punched him from behind then got his brothers to come to every game to help him if they do anything to him. you're right we did see what happened.....

Two different things, he is not about to be bullied outside the court, but he is not a brawler, he doesn't like the fight in the post.

You may be the moron I said this to last time but I'll repeat: the guy hit Jokic first. Once you hit a man you better be ready to defend yourself. If you don't understand something that basic that's your problem not mine.

Gordon can shoot it a little better, but yes, teams are gonna dare Westbrick to shoot all series long, and Russ will put them up, and shoot Denver out of at least 1 game in the series, likely 2.

Fatkic is a bad team merchant, when he faces elite teams, he doesn't look so tough. Fraud. Getting shut down by Rui "small forward" Hachimura is downright pathetic.

It's not bad or good teams, it's teams who can swarm with physical defenders, push him out to the 3 point line.

Jokic's one of the top players, but I'm inclined to agree that he's a little overrated. People are talking like he's the best player to ever step on the court, and I just don't see it. Murray's bailed him out way too many times. And he's been shut down in too many important games.

Which important games specifically has Jokic been shut down in?

The most recent was last night against the Lakers. The seeds are very close right now, and Denver could end up playing LA in the first round of the playoffs. Both teams will be fighting for home court advantage. This was an important game. Jokic went 2-7 from the field.

Also, he choked a couple games in 2020 against LA. Dwight Howard was giving him fits. And although he had a couple of monster games last year in the series with the T-Wolves, I remember he completely choked one of the games.

Granted, his chokes are few and far between, but every time I watch a Nuggets game, I'm struck by how many stupid turnovers he makes. People talk about how great a passer he is, but I think he's overrated as a passer. He makes extremely risky passes, and when they're successful, yeah, they're really impressive. But many times they're unsuccessful, and those same people who gush about his passing just ignore it. I'd be more impressed if he had fewer flashy passes and fewer boneheaded turnovers.

You apparently need to look up the definition of sucker strike. That was definitely not one.

Jokic is better than any player that played before Bron got drafted into the NBA.

His assist to TO ratio is 3.3, which ranks him 16th among all players. He does make risky passes that don’t work, but in general, his passing is quite crisp. Also, keep in mind that he has more touches, which means more passes, than anyone in the NBA. Basically, I’m saying that on the eye test I sort of agree with you, but the numbers tell a very different story.

You're hating on him as a player, because he fmdidn't distance himself from Vucic. That's kinda dishonest. He's a great player and most serbs are indoctrinated fools when it comes to politics.

I have him at top 5 in the league ... name a center better than him ??

red1
02-27-2025, 09:55 PM
he has a huge impact for his team and comes through when it matters

most skilled center ever when you consider his passing shooting and touch around the rim

give him a great guard and the team is instantly a contender. he's rated just right.
