You'd have to be almost Nico level dumb to give up anything of value for this guy at this point. If you could get him for a bargain, it might be worth the risk. Assuming that will obv not be the case, this would be a disastrous trade for whoever decides to pull the trigger on this.

Guy always ducks Jokic in Denver, and his own teammates have called him out for lethargy. His knee always seems to 'flare up' after he has a disappointing performance and comes under the microscope.

He doesnt wanna play. Hes scared of the pressure to shine when it matters. Hes lying about the knee symptoms so he can hide from another post season. Get him out of the league.

Wish him well with whatevers next in his life, but get him out. And dont pay whats left on his contract.

He averaged 35 last year while dealing with this. i just want everyone to remember that. Whenever you hear who is the greatest "what if" in NBA history. It is no longer penny hardaway or Derrick Rose. I want you to answer without hesitation "well, its joel embiid". More points per game than minutes last year....Wilt like....and thats with the injuries so imagine....IMAGINE.....

Do the surgery and lets get one last spin of the wheel for this championship in 2026. Nothing we get back in trade could ever be = value. Lets just go down with the ship

He will never declare himself healthy again. Not when a postseason is coming up.

There is no next time. He will keep finding ways out. He is done. He has no courage.

Has potential to turn into boogie on the Warriors, but he signed until 2029. And George signed until 2028 and he hasn’t even had a 20 point game in like a month I believe. That said they aren’t tied into any kind of high salary. Even with Embiid on a super max and George making 50 to 57 for all those years they can actually be under the cap after next season. Not by much but they can be in a pretty decent place financially. Benefit of the new rights deal. They Manage to convert either Embiid or George to picks they could have Max money to offer somebody to play with Maxey and whichever one they can’t get rid of.

It’s not easy, but it’s doable. Embiid has so much money for so long…but one of these nobody franchises that never pays anything anyway?

There are eight or nine teams in position to be 70 to 100,000,000 below the cap in the next couple years if they choose to go that route. If you’re tanking and don’t plan to spend big on a free Agent or you have one of those teams a big free Agent is never going to join anyway? he wouldn’t be a bad placeholder to keep you above the salary floor while you see if he gets healthy enough to trade for more picks.

If Philly gives him to like…Chicago for 2 distant firsts…

Chicago can be 140 million under the cap in a couple years believe it or not. Of course they won’t be because they will sign their draft picks and throw some token money at somebody just to meet the salary floor, but there are a few teams like that who could absorb the entire contract without having to match salary going back and wait to see if he gets healthy enough to send out for a real package.

Philly gets some prospect and 2030 something picks…they fill cap space they have to fill anyway…tank for picks…and see if he comes back. He comes back you flip him to a team trying to win short term for a young guy and more picks than you sent Philly.

Im not saying it’s the way to go…im just saying Philly can maybe make those calls.

A sucker may be out there to take him now but they would be wise to give him the season off, have him get whatever this latest surgery is, give it the full recovery time and then look at making a deal. Right now you are selling impossibly low.

Embiid has played less than 4200 regular season minutes the last 3 years combined.

Wilt played 4400(including playoffs) in 1967 alone in Philly leading them to the title.

Dont besmirch his name with comparisons to a guy so frail he’s under doctors orders to crumple at any contact to minimize risk of strains from resisting impacts.

Joel Embellish at least nagged his way to an MVP, before his sh!t was done.

Shame, as he had all the talent, size, and touch to be a top ten player all time.

Stop with the false narrative that’s been disproven already. Embiid does not suck Jokic. You keep typing it over and over thinking the more you say it the more it’s the truth. It’s not.

Osteotomy sounds worse than it is. It's a simple procedure of realigning the knee. Embiid could be back in 6 months.

He should just do both the meniscus replacement and osteotomy.

What do they do for the latest in meniscus replacement ? Artificial material ? Or blood type donor match ? Something else ? My left meniscus isn’t quite right and I think eventually I’ll have to look into these things. And all but 1 of my homies and ex teammates who had knee surgeries had the real bad ones (most were football players not Bball), so they don’t know a ton about modern meniscus procedures

Saddling Wemby with Embiid for whatever few years they don't have to pay him the max and can invest in other areas is an amazingly bad idea.

Spurs have experience with big men and if anyone can get Embiid to be more disciplined it is Spurs.

Spurs have experience with big men and if anyone can get Embiid to be more disciplined it is Spurs. It doesn't matter if he's disciplined if he's sitting out with an injury and the supermax. And why do they need a center when they have Wemby? Your idea makes no sense.

The ****ing process.

2014 Embiid (3rd pick) Weak, injury prone choking bitch
2015 Okafor (3rd) Out of the NBA within 5 years
2016 Simmons (1st) A mental midget fraud who's afraid of his own shadow
2017 Fultz (1st) One of the biggest busts of all-time

The 76ers are an absolute joke. Pound for pound the worst franchise in the league.

The process ended when Hinkie was forced out. This was before Ben Simmons was drafted. Who knows what Hinkie drafts. But we know for sure he doesn’t trade with Boston to pick Fultz. You’re saying the sixers are pound for pound the worst like Kings, Magic, Wizards etc aren’t still around.

Which team says,

"Sure, we'll take on Embiid's four year $250 million contract (player option for $70 million his last year at 34 y/o) when he's shown he can't consistently be on the floor and had the mental mentality to say he will not play in back to backs. Sounds like a steal for us.

That contract will go down as the worst in NBA history. I'd be amazed if he's even on an active roster for the final two years of it.

Luka was just traded. A young superstar player in the NBA. We’ve seen contracts that fans say no team will trade for? Be traded for. Al Horford signed 4yrs $100mil. No team is trading for that. Hold my beer one year later he is moved. We’ve seen an NBA franchise let a player sit home for a whole season making over $40mil.

And alas in 2025 we still have fans who think no team will want a player? History shows you will be wrong again. For as much criticism as athletes get for doing things when there’s countless examples before them? You fans sure as hell do follow in the same footsteps.

But yeah no one will trade for Embiid. Until it happens and you idiots are in the next thread telling folks how no one will want a player…
