Time and score are important questions. And even then the coach may need to look in the mirror. A lot of players are now coached to pass on twos for threes. So even though it's a dumb play he may have been doing what he has been told to do.

It's worth noting that he likely had no rhythm in that jumper whatsoever. Running away from the hoop and then just flinging the ball backwards with his body momentum fighting the shot. As much praise as he gets Steph Curry's coordination, balance and skill are still underappreciated for there to be players like this guy that think they can pull off something like this.

Not a bad play if that was a good rim protector there imo. You will see guys react like this to Wemby and Gobert all the time But it was Sabonis who’s awful so he should have attacked him.
