Looks like a hyperextension.

Painful, and probably a 2-4 week thing if I had to guess. But I dont think it would be anything catastrophic just based on the camera view.

Tough break for Dallas obviously, now missing both hermanos. Plus their entire big rotation.

Captain Klay gonna have to shoulder the load like never before :lol

The plan to move to Las Vegas seem to be proceeding according to plan.

I understand there is some smoke to that, as it was reported they did have an ownership meeting exploring the possibility of a Vegas relocation shortly after the Doncic trade.

What I'm confused about it is why they picked the Mavs for this. Dallas is a pretty big market. If the goal is to get a team to Vegas you'd think they'd have bought a team in a smaller market, for less money, and moved them. I also dont understand how trading Doncic makes sense as part of any such plan. You'd think they'd want exactly a player like him on a team that's about to rebrand in a new market.

Again, it was credibly reported that ownership did have a conference call to discuss Vegas as an option shortly after the trade. But why buying the Mavs and trading Luka makes any sense as part of that plan I dont get. They couldnt have made an offer for the Pacers? Or Timberwolves? or Pelicans? Texas is the fastest growing state in the country. Why would they wanna buy the Mavs just to ditch Luka and move them??

Sucks for him. Sucks for AD as well. Max should be balling.
Nice to see him go to the FT line. Kobe’s shadow looms over all.

Butterfly effect. If they don’t trade Luka he doesn’t get hurt.

It's classified as a sprained knee.

Hopefully there's no structural damage and maybe he can make it back with Davis and Gafford before the playoffs. For me the Mavs are the most interesting playoff team because they're a dark horse. We're not sure how they'll perform if healthy.

True, they still have a chance at least at the play-in. The Suns are 3.5 back and suck. If anyone can will knock them out it'll be the Blazers who have played well the last month and are 4 back.

Dallas was already treading water, it'll be impressive if they can still play around .500 basketball with a lineup of Exum, Christie, Thompson, Edwards and Powell.

Nico Harris might become the only GM of the Year to win it for another team (Lakers).

Will that injury make him humble and mature later on? I do hope so. Stop being a cancer too.

Get well for the meantime.

He's obv not quite on the level of what Babe Ruth was in his sport, but this is shaping up as some early Curse of the Bambino shit for the Mavs so far. Klay is the only starter they have left right now :lol

He's been a model player pretty much since he got to Dallas. He's not been that way since Brooklyn.

Maverick fans would fully revolt if they did this but Irving should strongly consider sitting for the rest of the season, pending doctor evaluations. And if irving isn't playing there's not much value in playing AD unless they have another Jalen Brunson hidden gem waiting in the wings.

If Irving can get right that's an absolute nightmare first round match up for the furst or second seed but there are too many Iaiah Thomas stories for that to be a good idea...irving has at least gotten his money but he might be able to get one more max deal.

If it's just a sprained knee he'll be back in a few weeks. Really sucks for the Mavs because they could've been a 6th seed but unless AD comes back ASAP and carries them I don't see how that's possible anymore.

They do have a 1st round pick this season so I could also see them going into the tank now given that this draft has a lot of potential if you can get a top 10 pick.

Well, confirmed to be that worse thing. Torn ACL.

That means he might miss part of next season too.

Nico Harris's house is going to get burned to the ground by an angry Mavs mob.

Not sure why some people here thought he would be back and the injury was nothing serious.

If you watch his injury in slow motion you could see how bad it was.

It looked like a simple hyperextension to me. I've seen worse hyperextension looking injuries that didn't tear ACLs.

Torn ACL. Rough news for the hermano.

Hoping for as full and quick a recovery as possible.

Age might have something to do with it. The older you are the less give there is in your joints and tendons.

Not everyone is that same no doubt. I got goosebumps watching him shoot the free throws while he had tears on his cheek.

Reminded me of Kobe when he ruptured his achilles.
