I would think the only reason LeBron would be this demonstrative in a public setting is because he's talking to Stephen A. about Bronny.
He’s tired of sports media talking about the lakers like they are the only story in the NBA.

I loved Barkley's rant last night about ESPN shoving the Warriors and Lakers down our throat. That was probably one of the funniest but truest things Barkley's ever said on on Inside the NBA. What made it funny is he was criticizing the network they're going to be working for next year and even called them idiots.

Sports media around the NBA has never been more braindead. I still dont know who the hell is watching these shows? Bunch of dumb teenagers? Thats the only explanation that makes sense to me.
Stephen A gets 100 million dollars...for...what?

The first time I’ve seen Steven A. say something that is 100% true, and not a stretch/sensationalism/wxaggeration.
6.3% FG is the best part.

What Barkley doesn't understand is LeBron & Curry are the two biggest names in the league who play for big markets, Cavs don't have any superstars and OKC is a small market team with SGA being less known to casuals, despite being better teams. At the end of the day it's a business so ESPN will mostly discuss what fans are interested in.

Barkley's argument would have made sense last year when the Lakers were a play in team. Now they have the 2 seed, just traded for Luka and have won 8 straight. They are a big story now. Get over it.
Barkley was dogging the Lakers all year and now they are the 2 seed which makes him look dumb.

Everyone thought that AD was the reason the lakers defense did well.
He wasn’t. And with Vando back and DFS being in town, they’re better now than they ever were with Day-To-Davis horrible transition D (even with Luka bad perimeter on ball D)
Fixed trade aside, this “new Lakers”/ “Showtime 2.0” playoff run would probably be really dope on its own, but Silver & the league front office will not be able to leave it alone, they will abuse all of it with ancillary marketing of everything with Bronny and pops besides basketball, will start giving Bronny more minutes towards the end of the season with a baby whistle, allowing him to rape ball handlers full court, etc. they will push marketing of both Steph & Bran’s families/stories/etc outwards in every direction of non-basketball ecosystems, on other Tv networks, female/family-centric social media spaces, etc and shove the “highly assisted” last hurrahs of Steph & Bron down everyone’s throats, in hopes it will help recover their lost ratings, but while doing all that, it will rob the real basketball fans of their pure enjoyment of just letting the game progress & evolve naturally.
Imagine if the league never fixed playoff series against:
- the JailBlazers
- Sacramento Kings
- Nash Suns getting half the damn team suspended multiple games to pave way for another boring spurs title
- Wade getting 24 free throws a game against 2006 Mavericks
- etc

Yeah that was funny. Perkins got emotional about it. Hinted at squabbling. Dude you’re 40.no one 40 and up are throwing hands. You can clap back at Barkley simply by saying you don’t even watch basketball. And want us to talk about teams you don’t watch. lol

He didn’t say that. He said don’t attack my son becuase you dislike me or want to get at me. SAS said his intentions weren’t that. Not that big of a deal. But we live in a society where nothing is private, everything is recorded. And narratives are created and ran with. SAS only addressing it becuase he woke up and saw it being viral.

Stephen A. addressed it on First Take today saying he wasn't going to address it, but after he woke up and saw it we've viral he decided too.
Nah, I think the brass at ESPN told SA, "You will address this. We just paid you $100 million." :lol
It was about Bronny.
Im so nba'd out

All bronny haters need to take this video as a warning. This can be you but it wont be lebron standing infront of you. it will be La Famila. The lebron fam is 100 million strong. you dont want none of these problems son

What's new? It's pathetic that they get so much attention for whatever's happening to them compared to any other team in the league. I think it's one part of why viewership had a decline over the last two years or so.

I mostly agree with Barkley's rant, and while I think Kendrick's take about the Lakers saving the NBA falls on the hyperbolic side ( it is sports talk media after-all), it does feel like, regardless of the specifics surrounding the trade or the idea that it's some conspiracy to 'assist' the Lakers, the Luka trade has definitely had some kind of revitalizing effect and/or stirred the conversation away from 'what's wrong with the NBA/ratings are declining'. Because that was the discourse leading up to the all-star weekend, but you haven't really heard much about that since. And you know they're frothing at the mouth for Luka's return to Dallas.
I would think the only reason LeBron would be this demonstrative in a public setting is because he's talking to Stephen A. about Bronny.
Idk but sometimes this is what nepotism can get someone into, especially if that person has been underwhelming so far. Not really surprised about it.

When you look at the Lakers tossing away a second round pick for a player that likely would have went undrafted had he not been who he is, it seems fair to give it some scrutiny, and SAS wouldn't be doing his job if he simply looked the other way as if it's perfectly normal for the Lakers to be drafting that player if he was anybody else. The Lakers themselves practice nepotism at the highest level of the organization. The team belongs to the Buss family and is within the law, it's theirs to do with as they please.
I wouldn't even say that SAS unfairly poked the bear. Just that the bear didn't like someone saying the quiet part out loud, so he used bullying and intimidation to threaten SAS. Teams fritter away draft picks all the time, and it looks like they figured they had one to burn if it means keeping LBJ here and happy. SAS chose not to make a scene right then and there, and I respect him for that because the Lakers were there to play a game and that wasn't the best place to get off into that. He's LBJ, and he lives out a lot of his life with the camera rolling and focused on him, but he can get away with unfortunate interactions from time to time. It's not a good look to air dirty laundry in public, but I ain't mad about it.
Life is not always entirely fair to say the least, and nepotism isn't likely going away any time soon. Take care of business, and this all goes away.

Astounding how mentally fragile Lebron is. Your kid is famous, and the criticism of him from Smith was justified and not anywhere close to over the line. And Lebron throws a public bitch fit over it.
No wonder Axe is such a big fan.

Chuck is right. ESPN is hurting the game with the ‘hot take’ shows and only ever focusing on the lakers. NBA has to have the worst sports media out of all the sports leagues

They’re hurting themselves by not promoting young players and up and coming teams..
People are bored of letiny and the espn dribble, hence the low viewership and lack of interaction online etc..

Threw away a 2nd rd pick? You couldn’t name the last decade 55th overall pick. How many 2nd rd picks stick on NBA rosters? How many 2nd rd picks are euros who don’t come over to the States? This notion of the lakers throwing away pick 55 is hilarious. You can’t even name what players went after Bronny at picks 56, 57 and 58. I can’t. Most here can’t. You literally have to google it. And guess what? When you find out the answers? You’ll forget them in a few days. Why is that? If Bronny would’ve went undrafted why did Rich Paul tell teams not to draft him?
Yes bronny made it to the lakers because his dad got him there. To assume he would have gone undrafted? A bit of a reach. To say any team threw away a 55th pick overall? I’ve never in my life following basketball heard that before lol No one cares about the 55th pick in a draft. Only until Bron son was picked did it receive so much attention. Moreso than actual lottery picks. Reed Sheppard went 3rd overall. What has he done? About as much as Bronny James who dominates the conversations of his draft class. Next draft no one will care who went pick 55. Nor would it be labeled as a a team throwing away a second rd pick.

Bronny is an adult. Bronny has played in the NBA. He is a fair target for criticism and praise like every other adult NBA player. His being the son of a famous NBA player does not exempt him.

Big mouth idiot shits himself when a dude he criticises all the time gets up in his grill.
The funniest thing is SAS said on his show that "LeBron could have called if he had a problem with something I said". Yet if LeBron called him, SAS would have said "I was at the game the other night and he didnt say nothing to me". SAS is an absolute joke and I'm glad everyone is on LeBron's side on this one.

I wonder how Bronny feels being a 20-year old who has his dad fighting his battles for him. He's going to have stunted pschological development. Like his dad.
