I don’t care about the triple double. That guy ain’t the best player in the world. He’s not even in shape, he’s hardly looks like an athlete. I don’t mean to insult the guy. He’s not a bad player, okay. But too many people got hyped about the Lakers and started rubbing it in.
But where are you guys at now? I don’t see an elite team or duo here. 8 for 26? Wasn’t he supposed to be the greatest player in history? Come on. Some apologizes would be nice. Keep that same energy. LeBron and Luca have become the biggest Divas.

Luka 8/26, Reaves 3/14, and on top of that losing to the Nets?
Lakers already falling apart without LeBron.

And lost by 3. If even one of those two( including Reaves) shot better the Lakers should have won that game.
I do agree his offense has been hit and miss even though his statlines the last 2-3 weeks are more in line with what he was doing in Dallas.

It's bad to lose. There's no important meaning beyond that. Already knew that LA is a bad team without James. Doncic isn't right, needs an offseason to heal up and who knows if he will get serious about diet and conditioning. Until next season James is their best player as well as their leader. When you are missing the guy that had both of those roles you struggle unless you're deep and talented, of which the Lakers are neither.

22 points on 26 shots. But hey, he got his triple double.

Hasn't been right since April 2024. He looked his best towards the end of that OKC series when he was getting those mystery shots for his knees. This is probably why Mavs traded him fearing it was just going to be one thing after another with his body breaking down.

-11 in the 7 minutes he sat on the bench.
Nets did a great job doubling him and Reaves couldn't make them pay. Overall though it's the turnovers that cost them the game.

Sure, Reaves played poorly but he's not your superstar. Luka should be sleepwalking the Lakers to a W over the Nets.
It was apparent even in the Celtics game. Superstar scorers don't struggle to create from the wing. They struggle when the defense collapses on them after they've already beaten their man. Then and only then is it on the teammates to come through. Luka looks geriartic out there and he needs a proper off season(no national team commitments) to get in shape AND healthy.

Starting line up:
Gabe Vincent
Dalton Knecht
Alex Len
Austin Reaves
Luka Doncic
That's a trash 4 guard lineup with a center who shouldn't be in the league, then Vanderbilt, Jemison and Goodwin playing 20 minutes each.
Get real, that lineup sucks.

The Nets aren't exactly world beaters either. In a game lost by 3 points, Luka firing on all cylinders would have won that game. Not to forget that Reaves was shit too. Yeah they're shorthanded without Lebron and Rui but I don't think they were 'needed' to beat a 22-42 team.

The Nets play harder than they should for a team in their position. Should be full tanking but still go out and give good effort most of the time.

I didn't watch the game but yesterday seems as if it was a Mavs lineup and we've seen Mavs collapse often when Doncic is frustrated and his lack of defensive effort drags the team down.

If the GM decides to design a roster to lose, trade all veteran talent for picks and cap space, that's their prerogative. But a player that decides to help tank is putting bad footage of himself out there to unimpress other teams while playing for a team that is looking to replace him. Not a good idea at all. Play hard and make them trade you.

Gotta wonder if they had their doctors lie to him about the severity of the injuries, and just kept shooting him up with numbing agents so he could play on badly hurt knees, knowing they could fu@k him up long term, but not caring cause they were on a title run?
I recall seeing the blood spots on each knee, and they were shooting the numbing agents into his wrapped up rib injuries too?
