'08 Lakers technically did go 12 - 1 after the Gasol trade but he didn't play in the win against Washington. Warriors technically are 12 - 2 since the Jimmy trade but he didn't play in the loss against Philly.

Lakers ended up going 14 - 2 with Gasol in their first 16 games. Warriors are at 12 - 1 but the next 3 are against Kings/Knicks/Nuggets so they'll probably end up 14 - 2 as well.

The role players have been looking solid and consistent lately. Everyone knew steph jimmy and even dray to an extent would show up in playoff time but there was some question marks regarding the others. Lately they have all been locked in.

Shai leads the league in win shares and WS/48. He has better advanced stats than Tatum across the board.

I thing the one area that Tatum lacks compared to SGA is that quick first step to get separation from a defender. Again this isn't a criticism of Tatum. Not everyone can be MVP.

But when it comes to the MVP discussing the argument I would be making for tatum would be centered around the great numbers he's putting up on a great team. Well, SGA had numbers that are a better on a team that has more wins. So it's a losing argument, which is why I'm letting it go until and unless Tatum does something amazing for the rest of the season, which he would be running out of time to do.

And it's fine because the Celtics most important goal (championship) is still well-attainable. If porzingis can stay healthy the Celtics will be significantly better this playoff than they were last year.

It's looking good but there's still a few technical issues. Either way Himmy is fixing some major problems with this team like dumb TOs with Steph and Dray, slowing things down and getting to the FT line, adding another playmaker and another smart defender. Wiggins was a better POA defender than a 35 year old Jimmy, but since Jimmy has a much higher IQ, the overall team defense is better. Dray and him communicate a ton.
