They got an okay CPI report for that, so it's possible. But I can tell you they won't be making that decision on this stock market collapse. They don't care about that. They want to see lost jobs and low inflation.

It is a good thing that there is something to lower though. Because if we were still at zero interest rates? We'd have nothing to combat the coming recession.

Inflation was/is a global issue. The US did better than almost any other country.

But foreign aid and money supply has nothing to do with inflation

Hell, we can run up the national debt as much as we want because it’s just money that we owe to ourselves…. Better yet, we can give Ukraine trillions of dollars and not feel a single drop of inflation.

I’m spittin liberal economic logic here.

That has been working since before you were born. Go read up on why literally every single country on the planet uses fiat instead of gold. It's because it allows governments to do "liberal logic" (but really it's every government logic)

It works for like 80% of the country…. Every 7-10 years when the bubble pops… 20% of the country gets ****ed. Rinse and repeat, game of musical chairs and somebody is left in the dust.

Also… wages do not keep up with inflation, we have trillions upon trillions in unfunded liabilities…. You can’t just keep kicking the can down the road and suggest life is getting progressively better for everyone.
