I'd be curious to see how the math works on that. Even if the Wizards close out the year on a 17 game winning streak they'd finish with only 31 wins, the Bulls would need to go 3-13 the rest of the way to finish with the same record. Even if that miraculous sequence of events were to occur, there's still 4 other teams ahead of them for the last playin spot. I would just assume these teams all play each other enough that it'd be mathematically impossible for ALL of them to finish with less than 31 wins.

ESPN also must run the math because in standings they aren't eliminated. Only Jazz and Pelicans are.

They're 13.5 games behind the last play-in spot and I'm assuming they have more than 13 games left on their regular season schedule.
