A great coach defensively, but offensively he sucks.

yet, all you need is to be one step ahead of him to have the key to the entire offense

He was a hardnosed defensive minded coach but he was pretty good on both sides of the ball and liked to preach to his players to play the right way.

This was the coach that helped Iverson look like the best player in the league. He made guys like Rip and Reggie look unstoppable at times in the playoffs and even helped a bust like Billups turn his whole game around and win Finals Mvp. A bad/average offensive coach could never do all of that.

Don't forget about CHA with Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace.

Iverson never looked like the best player in the league unless inefficiecy and gunning is your barometer

Most valuable isnt best

Yep same way the Dpoy would not automatically be the leagues best defender.

No actually thats what defensive player of the year is supposed to be. Most valuable and best are a different thing altogether. Shai is mvp. Jokic is the best

Is Camby or Chandler the leagues best defenders the year they won? Not even close

You can argue if they got itcright or not but it goes to best defender. They callit mvp not player if the year. See the difference? Not most valuable defendet. Not most valuable rookie not most valuably improved.

Yep I know what you are trying to say but its just a weird thing to nitpick just because i said he made Iverson look like the best player in the league. In a league that had Prime Shaq, Duncan KG etc I know Iverson was not better

Philly had a great year behind a great defense and a weak east so he got mvp. Some people might have thoughtvhe wasvthe bestvplayer because scoring a lot of points is what they look at. I always thought gw was a low iq warrior thatckayed it all out there but took a lot of bad shots. Not someone i would have wanted on my team

put Iverson in D'Antoni's system, and even Mutombo could look like Pau Gasol out there

In dantoni system he would suddenly pass the ball instead of throwing up a prayer against a triple team?

I wouldnt want him on my team either but you cant deny that Iverson was an exciting player to watch especially considering how hard he plays
