Bigger numbers dgotten less efficiently. That's to be expected, Jokic makes the game easier on offense.

He apparently makes it easier on defense too. The Nuggets are three points better DRTG with him than without him for his career.

And this year he's 21st in DRTG among players with heavy minutes, nestled in right there between Tatum and Brown.

Makes perfect sense that his surface numbers go up but he's gonna have a much harder time getting them, hence the massive efficiency gap. Basically, everyone eats well with Jokic on the floor.

3ball would argue Jokic diminishes his teammates since Westbrook averages more ppg without him.

I wouldn't be surprised if majority of his teammates states go up when he's on the court.

DRTG is also pretty heavily impacted by rebounding but rebounding is kind of part of defense... if you give up offensive boards the defense didn't mean anything.

Not with enormous efficiency gains like that. And the volume isn't even that off.

D Rating is a team stat. It doesn't measure a player's individual impact. There are enough tracking stats that do so much more accurately that we shouldn't still be using Drtg.

Yeah but at the same time it doesn’t mean it has no relevance. Then examine the circumstances and it isn’t like Jokic is playing with a bunch of defensive studs. I don’t know…think about it and figure it out.
