This would be the weakest talent that the league has ever seen, BY FAR... Accordingly, it's only the international players that are propping up the league's talent in today's game... Otherwise, the talent is a literal JOKE compared to previous eras.
Americans should be ashamed that they're SO MUCH WORSE at basketball than the 90's, where the 10th-best American player is better than the best American player today.
The reason that American players are so much worse in 2025 than the 90's is because everyone made a critical mistake in copying MJ's game - we assumed that 37 PPG and high-flying dunks meant that he was dominating the ball and going 1 on 5... No one copied his fundamentals and off-ball tendency.. Everyone just figured that he was doing fancy moves with the ball, so that's what everyone practiced... The result was a bunch of dumb AAU ball-dominators that can't play elite 5-man basketball or hold a candle to previous eras, or can't dominate international competition anymore.. So enjoy your joke of a league and the horrible brand of ball that Americans play, which drastically underperforms talent on the international stage - it's a stark contrast to previous eras.

Yes, I already SAID that broseph. And to be clear, it's not Jordan's *fault* that ripple effect happened. But that is what happened.
Thankfully Lebron came in and restored basketball back to credibility. And now the league is more competitive than ever. And Lebron is still thriving.
The End. :)

Lebron is a massive negative that is killing the Lakers record and their player development like Reaves:

Why was prime Kobe a net negative in 2002?
Why did you shift goalposts from Jordan to Kobe?

I literally was thinking about this yesterday. Imagine going from the Golden Age of MAGiC/Bird/Jordan/Ewing/Hakeem/Isiah of the 80's/90s. Kobe/Garnett/Duncan/Shaq of the 00s. Lebron/curry/durant/harden/westbrook of the 10's. Hell even to Giannis/Embiid/Jokic of the 20's to fking Jayson Tatum being the best player in the league..... Like seriously..... This muthafuka would be a role player in any other era. Now he has a chance to be the best player on the best team of his era. Shit is disgusting. Makes me dry heave. There are no more Kobe's coming around or LeBrons. AAU really ****ed up basketball. NO more alphas are coming into the league(outside of foreigners) just a bunch fo Zion's,Tatum's, and JA's.
Imagine being so weak minded that you lose complete confidence in yourself @ team usa practices and become pretty much PJ tucker on the court after winning a championship.....Not even in the rotation on team usa AFTER WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP! Shit sad bro. Shit is really sad bro. The NBA is dying bro. Just a bunch of fking role players coming in the league. Role players gon' wild
Its like the 04 Pistons is every team in the league. Im not watching that bullshit. I want to watch stars. US Born Stars. I want to see a mf score on 5 people. I want to watch someone get crossed over and then dunk on muthafuka. I dont want to see bounce passes from jokic......i dont want to see Jalen brown get a switch then attack mismatches all game. I wanna see kobe! i want him to walk up the court and kill whoever is infront of him. I want to see jordan. i wanna see lebron. not these aau matchup hunting, soft euro bounce passing, weak ass canadians.
and the majority of nba fans think like me

To be fair, Zion is a real stud whenever he actually plays. He just hardly ever does. And to your point, part of that has been a lack of commitment.

The hands-off, no-impede, and defensive 3 rules created an open paint and no-touch beginner format that no longer produces the world's best players.. It's a sad sight to see... Thanks Silver.. Meanwhile, the more old-school formats internationally produce the generational players nowadays, smh

This man should of been a reggie miller or paul George on the pacers @ best....AT BEST!!!!! not winning a championship.....not in the running to be on the best team of his decade. This shit is demoralizing as a fan of the sport. He should never seriously be in contention for a title as the best player on a team.
If you are a Celtics fan dont quote me...IDC what you think. You are a boston fan, you will never see tatum for what he (role player ass) truly is. Same way im sure 04 Piston fans couldnt be told that sheed wasnt a superstar.
But that's what he is.....Pacer's Paul George....Hawk's Jeff Teague.....Pacers Reggie Miller.... Memphis ZBO.....Thats what the fk he is in any other era.....Weak ass league letting this Chris Mullin ass Glen Rice ass ***** win a ring.
Its sad cause history will never remember how fake that injury riddle ring was. Hes gonna get full credit like he's one of the greats.

I don't want to live in that world. 40 y.o Lebron is better than peak Tatum (a supposed top 5 player) which says a lot about the quality of this league.

Chris fkin Mullen and Allen Houston is winning rings now as the #1 & 2 options on the team....Thats where basketball is at now....This is what the NBA has became with Tatum and brown winning a ring. Doctor J is rolling over in his grave right now

The underrating of Tatum is wild here. Reggie Miller and Allan Houston?
Tatum is a very good defender, and was able to guard the Mavs centers in the finals. His versatility on that end is crazy. Decent playmaker and great rebounder for his position. Can his shooting be better in big games? Sure. But that's a crazy criticism coming from an Embiid stan
