View Full Version : I'm surprised the Kings havent even tried playing Jonas and Domas together

They got stomped by the Magic last night and have looked absolutely uninspired since the trade deadline.

They got JV at the deadline, obviously to be Sabonis backup but I figured theyd at least experiment with the two of them together. DS has shot the three ball well this year albeit in limited attempts, it's not like he cant space the floor.

Defensively I get the hesitation, while JV upgrades the center position on D it could be tricky asking Domas to guard PFs. Still, it's an offense league right now. Youre telling me this isnt worth trying for a team that has looked basic af?

These guys I would imagine have experience on the court together for Lithuania. Im not positive but it seems logical. Im sure they could function offensively. Yet I dont think theyve been on the court for a minute together with the Kings.

Again Im not saying "this would definitely work" but Im just surprised they havent tried it. Monk, Lavine, Derozan, Murray and Sabonis is a VERY physically unimposing lineup. And they clearly havent found a way to compensate that consistently. Give the two-big look a try IMO. The Kings have nothing to lose at this point.

Not 1990. Good luck selling yourcanalysis :facepalm

Minnesota made the conference finals last year with two seven foot stiffs.

Granted one of them got abused and embarrassed by Doncic but the Kings can worry about that bridge when they get there.

The number one gobert fan all of a sudden wants to talk about spacing lmfao

You are the most disingenuous poster on the board….and that is pretty impressive given your competition.

Wolves had a histoically great offense and am elite rim runner and elite stretch big. Not quite the same as two bad defenders that dont stretch the floor. Wouldnt expect trolls to understand the nuances of the game though. My analysis is free as always. You are welcome

Funny how the trolls go silent when facts are presented. His 25 revound performance will really have them shook. 🙄

The Rockets have made Sengun-Adams lineups work to great success. They'll usually run zone on defense, I think it's a 2-3. Sengun and Adams are fantastic big passers and offensive rebounders. Their ball movement and extra possessions give the Rockets really good looks at shots. It's a good trick to have in your back pocket. The difference between Sabonis-JV and Sengun-Adams is that Adams is better than JV as a rebounder, defensive player, screener, and passer.

Some stats on the pairing:

- 18 games played; 123 minutes played
- 127.5 ORtg; 91.0 DRtg; 36.6 NRtg
- 50.0 OREB%

Really bad spacing on offense and clunky defensive frontcourt that can burned from 3.
