They got stomped by the Magic last night and have looked absolutely uninspired since the trade deadline.
They got JV at the deadline, obviously to be Sabonis backup but I figured theyd at least experiment with the two of them together. DS has shot the three ball well this year albeit in limited attempts, it's not like he cant space the floor.
Defensively I get the hesitation, while JV upgrades the center position on D it could be tricky asking Domas to guard PFs. Still, it's an offense league right now. Youre telling me this isnt worth trying for a team that has looked basic af?
These guys I would imagine have experience on the court together for Lithuania. Im not positive but it seems logical. Im sure they could function offensively. Yet I dont think theyve been on the court for a minute together with the Kings.
Again Im not saying "this would definitely work" but Im just surprised they havent tried it. Monk, Lavine, Derozan, Murray and Sabonis is a VERY physically unimposing lineup. And they clearly havent found a way to compensate that consistently. Give the two-big look a try IMO. The Kings have nothing to lose at this point.
