As getting older I have more realized that these awards are meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It’s conjecture to start up conversation which can be appreciated in a sense but in the end it’s all very asinine.

I dont disagree it's really pretty irrelevant to player legacies (as far as I see them anyway, I'm sure the players who win the awards dont consider them irrelevant).
But still a good launching point for discussing various things about the current game itself.

Yeah it's been very obvious to me for a long time.
We going to act like LeBron was only the most valuable player to have for 4 years? Steph was only the most valuable for 2 years of his career?
On and on it goes, **** out of here with this shit.
The voters get bored and they create narratives because the truly most valuable player doesn't change all that much from year to year. Sometimes there is inconsistency and the best player has a down year, but usually not until someone drops off or some meteoric rise.
The idea that Tatum has ever been anywhere close to winning a MVP and gotten serious consideration for this award should be enough for everyone to know it's not a serious award, just as an example.
