View Full Version : Why do the Lakers fans have built in excuses for every loss?

When they got Doncic, they kept saying Lakers in 5! I even heard it in real life. This guy that looked like Highwhey got mad at this girl he liked in an Uber and shouted at her Lakers in 5. She had no idea what he meant. I thought they were supposed to become this LEGENDARY team that was unbeatable.
When they lost to the Celtics, the excuse was that Boston tried harder and used up more energy. They were more ready. That's an insane excuse. When they lost to Giddy, it was because Giddy made a lucky shot. They lost last night and the excuse was that Doncic missed shots and Podzemski looked like Ray Allen, yet they still had a chance to win.
If the team is so good why aren't we talking about how dominating they are instead of making an excuse or belittling the opponent for every single loss? Lebron is supposed to be the GOAT, Lucic is supposed to be the best 2nd option and Reaves is supposed to be the best 3rd option. And Reaves does look like a superstar in the clutch to be frank. I don't really care to hear about the Lakers needing a center when you have that much talent. You gave up Davis and said you didn't need him.

Disqualifying factors for GOAT:
* 22 on 35%
* 26 on 35%
* Upset loss to 09' Magic
* Upset loss to 10' Celtics
* Goat choke in 2011 Finals
* Record loss in 2014 Finals
* Record loss in 2017 Finals
* Record loss in 2018 Finals
* Lottery during prime in 2019
* Lottery with all-star teammates in 2022
* turns everyone into spot-up shooter
* can't develop young players
* prevents elite roster construction (turns everyone into spot-up shooter)
* lowers everyone's assists
* low assist teams
* bad at ball movement and chemistry
* long list of teammates cratering alongside him
* lottery record on the championship level (22-33)
* -86 on the championship level
* can't win with normal rosters of 1 franchise player
* 22 years of needing more help
* #1 all-time in turnovers and missed shots
* losing record with preseason favorites (3-4)
* losing record with Finals teams (4-6)
* losing record with all-star teammates (4-7)
* losing record with 1 or 2 seeds (4-5)
* record 3 straight upset losses (09-11')
* horrific efficiency in clutch and game-winners
* no game-winners in Finals (0-7)
* never won 60 games in 6 tries with AD
* won 60 games once in 7 seasons with 2 all-stars from 11' to 17'
* never produced a great team
* can't carry the star category of scoring vs top teams, so he needs more star help (too ball-dominant at high-scoring levels)
* can't defeat max defensive attention (carry scoring load on championship level)
* can't carry weak help over top teams (can't beat top 5 SRS team with weak scoring & efficiency from sidekick)
* many weaknesses like turnovers, offensive rebounds, clutch efficiency, ball-dominance, mid-range
* needs 1st options and franchise players to play 2nd and 3rd option, i.e. cannot win with normal rosters of 1 franchise player

Not sure. But someone saying that there best players can't defend is a fact, not an excuse.
Look at OKC, would you? Their best players, Shai, Jalen Williams, Chet...all excellent defenders. And of course their role players are great there as well.
Luka and Reaves and bottom of the barrel defensively for starters in the league. Lebron is bad most of the time too, although he has the occasional ability to step it up. Tough to beat good times when your best guys can't defend.
OP has never made a post where he wasn’t whining.

Every fanbase does this.
* never won 60 games in 6 tries with AD
They might've done that in 2020 but COVID cut the season short.

Nonsense
Luka's stats with Lebron........... 25.8..... 7.9.... 7.6
Luka's stats w/out Lebron......... 30.2... 10.2.... 8.8
Luka joins Bosh, Love, Westbrook, Hughes, Ingram, Jamison and many more teammates that cratered and were underwhelming alongside Lebron.. This latest cratering of Luka freiking Doncic proves that Lebron can't get the most out of teammates and his skillset of dominating the ball and imposing spot-up roles has bad chemistry with everyone.
The numbers have ALWAYS backed up what I say, and the unfolding events CONTINUE to back up what I say, aka Luka cratering alongside Lebron

.
Love w/out Lebron......... 26 ppg
Love with Lebron........... 16 ppg
Luka w/out Lebron......... 30 ppg
Luka with Lebron........... 25 ppg
So Luka is cratering just like Love, Jamison, Ingram, Hughes, Westbrook, Bosh and many more.. Lebron's skillset has bad chemistry with every roster, and that's why Luka is underwhelming.

Luka honestly doesn't seem to thrive outside the one man army style. A three way split between him Lebron, and Reaves doesn't allow him the ball domination he desires and needs to lather himself into knockout stretches. He looks pedestrian if not dominating the ball.
Luka is overrated and one of the worst teammates Lebron could ever have. Lebron is so unlucky with anything given to him.

Disagree. Luka's having the same issues he had to start the year in Dallas. He never properly rehabbed the knee injury in the off-season(he pulled a Joel and played more basketball instead). People who aren't watching will say it's cardio but last night's game was a perfect example: He looked "tired" from tip off. He's struggling to beat defenders 1 on 1. The same defenders he'd burn in his sleep a year ago. As a result he's shooting more 3's looking to draw more fouls than ever before.
Verdict on Luka will be what he looks like to start next season.

It's not Lakers fans. It's Bronie fluffers. They have to do mental gynmastics to try to salvage LeShrivel's legacy.
