Im sorry but if players can get MVP awards for narrative and/or lifetime achievement purposes as they did many times during Lebron's BITW reign, and likely this year too, then theres no reason not to give Lebron James a WELL DESERVED DPOY AWARD.
Those 60 win Cavs teams he played on in his young 20s were great on D as a result of his defensive commitment. He was an absolute defensive beast individually during his Miami peak. During his second Cavs run he made the most iconic defensive play in Finals history. And his tenacity even at 40 years old has made these Lakers respectable defensively.
With Yama ineligible, this is the perfect opportunity to GIVE BRON HIS DAMN RESPECT. Every voter needs to understand the historical importance of giving him this rightful recognition.
