Another weird self sabotage.

They had a somewhat stagnating but decent thing going with Fox and Sabonis in a loaded West.

Now, they suck.

Why did they do any of it? Do GMs not have brains anymore?

They should have listened to me when I was saying that Zach Lavine is a net negative.

Fox didnt wanna be in Sacramento. His agent told them he wouldnt sign an extension. And it wasnt really a seller's market at the deadline. I dunno if the Spurs refused to trade any of their young players or if Kings management preferred to "win now" with Lavine, but they probably should have held out for more and dared Fox to walk if hes gonna. But teams rarely seem to do that.

But yeah, they are screwed now.

That's the thing though. You'd have to be crazy or just plain ignorant to think that Lavine is going to be a "win now" player.

When you’re not good enough to even compete for your conference, you blow it up and tank for a super star prospect. Just the reality for meddling teams who’ve peaked.

They underrated Sabonis, despite it being obvious he was the core of the team.
