Also, I'm not sure if he was active since he's been out for a month until he was cleared. I think he might've had a month where he just sat around a did nothing but rest? Ramping up less than a week before the playoffs and asking Dame Time to arrive would be a lot for anyone to do coming back from a blood clot recovery that as the doctors put it, "We've never seen anything like this before" in terms of how fast he came back.

But even then I want him back. Lillard and Giannis have NOT played one playoff game together since he arrived there.

I agree. The last team to win a championship with that type of team setup was 2004 Pistons. You could maybe argue the 2014 Spurs. Kawhi was super young and unproven still. He was still 22 years old and only had averaged not even 13PPG for the regular season. Only 14 PPG in the Finals.

Thing is those teams were elite defensively. Not the case with Indiana. I think they can still win if they have better 3PT luck but I'd expect the teams with better closers and a better defense to come out on top.

I wouldn't blame this loss on coaching (even though it was some of the worst defense I've seen this postseason), but it adds to the laundry list of all-time chokejobs by Rivers-led teams. :oldlol: Haven't seen a last-minute collapse like that in a playoffs game since G5 of Clippers-Thunder in 2014.

I'm not even mad, especially since it would've been our last win of the postseason in any case. After all, I couldn't have asked for this season—the most miserable of Giannis's entire superstardom—to end any sooner. After the game on Inside the NBA, Ernie, Kenny and Chuck got in an argument with Shaq about the whole Haliburton father thing. Shaq called Giannis' actions soft and when he was in the league it was part of the game for stuff like that to happen. Ernie, Kenny and Chuck were of the opinion that fans or parents of players shouldn't be coming onto the court right after the buzzer and shoving towels of their son in players' faces saying "you're f*cking nothing". Which is roughly what Haliburton's father did to Giannis.

It was actually pretty funny to see Shaq act like a toddler sometimes. Ernie had the best comment to Shaq, "Being respectful isn't being soft." Shaq's argument was basically, "I was in the league 19 years and it was part of the game."
