View Full Version : The NBA lottery system has done zero - ZERO - to prevent tanking.

The Utah Jazz only have a 14% chance at winning the lottery, despite finishing with the league's worst record. Those relatively small odds are what was supposed to deter them from purposely throwing in the towel.

And yet they were fined during the season FOR tanking.

Teams like Washington, Philly and others also CLEARLY tanked games by holding veterans out for that exclusive purpose.

As a fan does this bother you, or do you not really care?

Does the NBA need to expend internal energy looking for a solution, or are you satisfied picking your nose and drooling on this issue and dont really care one way another?

Both options are acceptable, it's your fanhood and your choice. I'm just honestly curious if anyone "cares" or... not.

I think it is only 11% same as 2 other teams. Tanking sucks. They dont seem to want to change it

If Zion has a eating issues.

If Zion is addicted to porn

If Zion is addicted to junk food.

If Zion already knows he will only plays 50% or less of 82 Reg Sea Games.

Its on the Pelicans and Pelicans fans and Zion.

Rest of the NBA need not worry about it at all.

I would just make it a true lottery and give all 14 teams a single ping pong.

I understand the drawbacks. How potentially a bottom tier team can get screwed year after year. What I can say, maybe you get lucky in the lottery and maybe you don't. In the meantime develop talent better and make better moves. There should never, ever be an incentive to lose.

Plus on the positive side, the top players coming out of college wouldn't always go to the bottom feeders. Part of being great unfortunately means you don't get the luxury of being sent to a decent team. I don't see why those players should be punished.

Make it all equal and fair. If you get lucky? Great, but incentivize winning and improving your organization.
