The amount of players they have brought to the Warriors to keep Curry happy has been insane. They just keep retooling with big FA's or trades.
Drafting Klay/Dray and Jordan Poole was huge. Getting rid of Monta Ellis in 2011 was huge. They brought in huge free agents like Andrew Bogut, David Lee, Iguodala, KD, Demarcus Cousins, Andrew Wiggins, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler.
Curry is of course the engine but the Warriors FO has stepped up like crazy since drafting him.

Picking Wiseman at 2 and Kuminga over Wagner were pretty notable misses.

True, their drafting hasn't been good recently but they've just completely made up for it with FAs and trades.

Buddy Hield sucks.
Saved them in game 7 so he clearly ended up mattering a lot.

Curry's been amazing. The FO meanwhile has been more lucky than competent. It's similar to Denver where you congratulate them for having faith in and building a system around their unique superstar. But they got lucky with their initial core pieces fitting. And they've been unable to build on that. In the last 6 years the only thing I can say is good job on flipping Wiggins for Butler.

Scooping Bogut and Iggy up at basement pricing was a pro move. The only other moves that were great were KD and Butler. The rest is just replaceable fodder. Cousins was a ****ing disaster.

Poole was actually great for them in their 2022 playoff run. So he counts too.

Yea, they started off awesome but the past 5+ years have been pretty bad. Wiggins for Butler was their only good move in 5 years and that was even working with top draft pick. Thats no Bueno.

Drafting Poole was vital to winning in 2022. Not to the level of KD or Butler of course, but still vital.

Bro even mentioning Poole in the same breath as butler or kd is blasphemous.:lol History will show he was nothing special as an NBA player. Outside of 1 single year he's been HORRIBLE. He was terrible even in his 2nd run with Golden State and a primary reason they lost to LA in 2023.

The FO has been more lucky than competent, but it doesn't matter. They offered Steph to the Bucks when Lacob took over, and they didn't take him due to his injuries. Wanted to trade Klay until the logo threatened to quit. Pretty much had the worst draft in NBA history with Wiseman at #2, esp since rumours were Wolves were willing to flip picks presuming Warriors would offer some picks in return.
The Warriors FO was elite when the Jerry was with the team. They had great trades AND elite drafting. Some of their trades have been great since, but their drafting has been poor.

Grabbing Buddy, Melton and trading for Himmy was huge though. I think Bob is probably super overrated, and MDJ might already be superior to him. He also wanted Podz, who was a late enough pick.

True, there has been some luck too.
Just saying it's much harder nowadays for a star player to remain on one team for a long time and have the FO constantly retool at a high level.

and yet, he won them many games en route to a title in 2022. Dude can ball.

Even that's due to a lucky break. Curry's early injuries allowed them to have him on a cheap deal in his prime. They got the #2 pick while still having Curry near his prime. But I don't blame them for picking Wiseman. It was logical and in this case it's just bad luck. They've had other unlucky breaks too like injuries in 2019 finals and Kuminga being underwhelming. But for the most part the FO has been lucky rather than light years ahead.

What I'm trying to say is Bob in particular got to piggy back off a lot of success. I hope to see what he does in another organization but he's been ghosting. MDJ seems better at least in drafting and did well with Jimmy. I wasn't too confident of the trade when it happened (Steph looked like crap then).

I knew Jimmy was going to be a huge pickup right away. Idk how far the Warriors go, but Jimmy can easily extend Steph's career from a competitive perspective.

Yep.
curry never had to even worry about winnng FMVP.
They became stacked af. If some casuals are saying that he's the 'best player of his generation', then it only goes to show that the 2016 73-win team isn't overrated at all.

still
I've never seen any player in NBA history like Draymond Green who BLEW 2016 NBA Championship and a guaranteed back-2-back championship like this.
colluding by Durant should've been icing on the cake with 5 rings.
now they are stuck with 4 rings. and 2 by collusion.

Curry brought in Iguodala and KD. They had to be beaten first to take the Warriors seriously as a destination.

Amazing how they have been able to build such a small team with 1990’s level spacing :lol
In all seriousness Myers was good then he struck out a lot of times. Dunleavy has had a pretty damn good track record so far though especially considered the situation that was plopped in his lap wasn’t the greatest.

As I said, the Warriors FO has done great for Curry.
Butler and Buddy just won ANOTHER playoff game for Curry.
