Shockingly, Scott, now 64, admits that he had sexual contact with the girl but says he thought she was 18.
So he was at a high school, and thought the 15 yr old girl was really 18? I guess I can believe it, but lets not forget 18 is basically the maximum age he could reasonably believe her to be. He was 26 at the time.
He then ‘forcefully grabbed Hayley by the arm and pulled her inside the room’ leaving her ‘frightened and confused.’
Scott then ‘began kissing her on the mouth as she repeatedly asked “what are you doing?”
‘Then, despite her clear protests, Scott pushed Hayley to her knees, and, against her will, pulled off her top. Scott the pulled down his shorts, exposed his erect *****, and tried to force Hayley to perform oral sex on him.'
Hayley was ‘terrified’ and ‘pleaded for Scott to stop and tried to turn her head away from his erect *****,' the complaint claims.
Eventually, the complaint says, Scott relented and told his victim to get up off the floor and get dressed then he unlocked the door so she could leave.
Oh, so we're not just talking about statutory-rape, but attempted non-consensual rape-rape. LOL why the fk did he admit it happened? What a loser. It hardly makes it better if she was 18. And people were giving Giddey a hard time...
He eventually asked a teammate, who also lived in Encino, if he could take Hayley home but the player - apparently recognizing the inappropriate nature of driving alone with a strange teen, responded: ‘F**k, no. I’m not putting that girl in my car.’
He doesn't even have the decency to drive her home after kidnapping her and stranding her at the school.
This is just one more glimpse at the dark underbelly of Laker Nation. These are the types of people LakerLegend32 worships while she complains about Trump everyday.

He didn't even penetrate her. He didn't even get head.
He sexually assaulted her, for sure. But he didn't rape her.
Needs to be said.

Why would he drop the girl off after trying to assault her? That's probably the last thing u wanna do unless u want to ruin your career.. Scott had a lot to lose at the time.
Anyways this sucks because they waited 38 years before taking action. Who knows how many people Scott assaulted? Shit like this was common in the 80s & 90s with HS girls dating guys way older than them but it doesn't excuse what Scott did at all. The girl could've been 18+ as well, it's still illegal to do what he did. I believe the victim because they're only asking for 25K and a jury trial. They probably could've gotten a huge settlement out of Scott if they kept their mouth shut.

Eh anything is possible but I'm always skeptical in these cases. Statutory rape I can understand but actual rape?
Why would a successful NBA star in his mid-20's commit such a horrific act and rape some random underage teenager when no doubt he could have had any girl he wanted. And just her? This guy is low level violent creep but never victimized anyone else?
And why wait all this time? You're saying this man did the unthinkable to you and were perfectly fine staying quiet as he continued to flourish in the public eye? Why? You waited 38 years to reveal this? Just extremely odd.
Like I said anything is possible but I would really hope people don't rush to judgement here. Innocent until proven guilty. If she settles for a single dime you know it's bullshit.

Bill Cosby could've had any woman he wanted too, he brought them home and could've likely had consensual sex with a lot of them, but he decided to drug them and rape their unconscious bodies. People always confuse rape as being simply about having sex, a lot of it is about a power and control dynamic.
Your 2nd point is straight ignorance. It's common knowledge it can take victims years, even decades to speak out against their accusers. So while I won't dispute 38 years is an extremely long time, waiting a long time to speak out is a very common occurrence in situations like these.
I agree we should hold off judgement, no matter how vile the accusations are, until it goes to trial. He should be presumed innocent until proven guilty, and unfortunately, too many woman have lied about this in the past that it justifiably causes a lot of skepticism when celebrities are accused of these kinds of things.

This sounds like something feminists and bad faith actors manipulated people into repeating. You hear something said enough times and before long you just accept it blindly without bothering to give it any thought. How does this make any sense at all?
Mind you we're talking about actual rape, not statutory rape or sexual assault in the broader sense. We're talking about a seriously inhumane and violent act here. There's no "shame" in being raped if you're a woman. The only thing I could imagine that would prevent someone from speaking out is fear of violent retaliation. Beyond that there's really no excuse and people sound like idiots when they suggest such things. You have a moral obligation to both yourself and society to see that man punished.
The fact that she's seeking financial restitution pretty much says it all. Imagine being violently raped against your will and not wanting that person to spend a single day in jail so long as he's willing to write you a check. I'm sorry that's just really, REALLY odd to me.
You can play knight in shining armor all you want, the facts are really fishy here.

Again, you are completely clueless on the subject, stunningly so :lol There are numerous examples of people not reporting sexual assault or abuse for years or even decades after they occurred; the Catholic Church, Michael Jackson, Jerry Sandusky, Larry Nassar, R. You frankly are just ignorant on the subject, ignoring all these cases I mentioned involving hundreds of victims in addition to the countless others that have taken place, misguidedly trying to paint anyone who understands this pretty common knowledge about these incidents as a feminist or knight in shining armor.

Assume you were this girl's father. A man just violated your baby girl in the most unthinkable way imaginable. He's not a crime lord or a powerful person in government. He's an expendable basketball player.

I have no idea, thankfully, I've never been through this experience. From my understanding a lot of the time it's embarrassment and shame, other times it's because the person is in a position of power.
I couldn't tell you why this woman chose not to speak up after all these years, I'm not even saying this incident factually occurred, we'll probably never know. But your claim that this is uncommon in sexual assault or abuse cases is just blatantly wrong, in fact it's the common trend amongst them.

The fact that you even have to ask these questions means you don't understand the topic at all. Most cases like this aren't reported at all.
Whether it's shame, fear of losing the case and possible retribution, or something else. It happens all the time.
You think the first thing a woman in a horrifying and often embarrassing situation like this (again, like others have said, we don't know if this particular one is true or not) is doing is going straight to her father? No, that's not usually how it works either.
You talking about "logic". Sometimes with things like this logic isn't really at the forefront. It's a very emotional thing.

"It could have been shame or something else..." what something else??? I keep asking you guys to explain this to me but no one can. No one here can give me a logical reason for her staying quiet. Now you're suggesting that she wouldn't even tell her loved ones? Not even her mother and father? Why??? And even if by some miracle she didn't tell her parents, are you telling me they didn't notice a change in her behavior?? I mean you're claiming she was so emotionally traumatized, but her poker face is just that good and no one could tell?
Also what is so "embarrassing" about a 15 year old girl being attacked and raped by a grown man? Is she worried about preserving her street cred? So much so she can't even tell her immediate family??? Like I said fear of retaliation is the only thing I can think of, but wtf is BYRON SCOTT going to do once he's outed???
If I were this girl's father I couldn't imagine staying silent on this. I would want this scumbag animal buried under the jail and I would do everything in my power to make it happen. Actually I would probably want to kill him myself.

Why are you going so hard for Byron Scott when his defense in this case is "I thought she was 18" instead of denying the allegation? So he admits he had sexual contact with a 15 y.o while being 26 :biggums: .
Shockingly, Scott, now 64, admits that he had sexual contact with the girl but says he thought she was 18.
Scott’s attorney, Linda Bauermeister, told Daily Mail: ‘Our client is devastated by this complaint, a basketball event that took place in 1987.
‘Our client believed the plaintiff to be over 18 and had no idea she would claim otherwise until 35 years later.

Hey genius, she's accusing him of violent and forcible rape.
Him admitting he had relations with her would mean he's guilty of statutory rape, not actual rape. Both are crimes but there is a clear and very important distinction there. One is way worse than the other.

A minor can't consent to having sex. That is a crime. You're defending a guy who at age 26 went to a high school and tried to have sex with a random girl he met there without knowing her age (allegedly, he probably knew she was a minor let's be real).
And even if she was of age at the time, you can't lure someone into a closet and just pull out your ***** and force them on their knees. That's sexual assault. I'm not sure what Scott or his lawyers are thinking.

Ok now I understand your point a bit better.
Seemed like you were trying to downplay his actions by questioning the legitimacy of the victim's claims. What he did was very illegal. You can argue whether it was violent or not but her claims definitely make it seem like he tried forcing her to do sexual acts and it wasn't until he pulled out his ***** and forced her on her knees that he stopped the assault. If you already forced yourself on a girl and kissed her and took off her top without her consent you've broken multiple laws, and that's before we get to the underage part. He held her against her will and forced her to do sexual acts. At least he didn't go all the way through with it but the damage is already done at that point.

I am questioning the validity of her claims. I believe he got messy with her but I don't believe it happened in the way she said.

what kind of dirtbag gets messy with an 18-year old after shuttling her away to a private room at a high school event (that your wife is attending as well).. he must do this type of thing all the time

I guess it's going to be impossible to tell unless Scott admits to it or the accuser messes up her testimony somehow.

Lol testimony? Like most civil cases this is probably going to be settled out of court. That was probably her goal to begin with. I can almost guarantee you this never sees a court room. I would be highly shocked.
Any sane or rational person should be extremely skeptical considering her behavior and her refusal to come out with this sooner.

The lawsuit demands a jury trial and $25,000 for damages, payment of attorney fees, and loss of wages to be paid by Scott and the high school.
And the accusation seems very grounded as well. NBA players have groupies throwing ass at them all the time, it's not farfetched to think Byron Scott had some disconnect with reality and misread a situation enough to think taking off her top and getting her on her knees was okay. He probably did that all the time.

Uh, if she were 18 we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Not sure what's so reprehensible about a 26 year old athlete getting with an 18 year old female. Again I don't think he seriously thought she was 18 but if that were the case then this would be a non issue.
Cheating on your wife is not some horrific irredeemable crime. Willing to bet most NBA players cheat on their wives.

$25k is a lot of money if you're down and desperate. Plus who knows what constitutes "loss of wages".
If Scott has groupies throwing themselves at him, then it would make little sense for him to risk it all on some random underage girl he just met. She's claiming he forcefully grabbed her, ignored her clear and obvious protests and then forced her on her knees physically against her will.
That wouldn't just be a 'disconnect', it would mean Scott is the lowest possible human scum there is and deserves the harshest punishment imaginable.

It isn't the cheating that is the big deal.. It's doing it while attending an event with your wife and sneaking off with a stranger - it means he does it all the time and is basically an animal with zero restraint.. A dirtbag...
38 years later seeking $25,000 in damages?
