View Full Version : Finch rips Edwards for lack of energy

Finch just went hard on Ant. Called him out for not bringing energy as a leader. Also said when his shot isn’t falling it isn’t an excuse for him to still not bring it and set the tone.
I think I might have saved this one for the locker room.

I didn't watch the game, did Butler make it difficult?

Nice. He's not wrong. Tired of seeing Edwards getting anointed when he does this a lot.

the guy needs to learn to save energy
by stop celebrating everywhere from LA locker room to LA streets.
save some for next series.
Last yr, he was complaining how winded he was deep in playoffs.
Edwards might be ultimate fake. hard to imagine how quickly he runs out of testosterone.
Its not like he plays full court killer defense.

Not really. Butler gutted out a game but he was still somewhat limited. It was more of Ant being ice cold. But the entire team was. They missed their first 17 3 point shots. But Ant not scoring for 2 1/2 quarters is pretty rough.
Finch was right though that even if he isn’t scoring he can still bring it and try to get his teammates going. He all but disappeared for a long stretch and when he came back, it was already too late.

Yeah Luka gets ripped for bad cardio, but Ant isn't great at managing his energy either.

Finch benching the one guy that showed up in the 3rd was the difference

Didnt see the game either, nor the interview so I cant say how the comments sounded in context. I think he's challenged Edwards on occasion in the interviews before tho and Ant seems to be pretty good about responding the right way.
It looked from the updates I was checking on my phone like the Wolves did come out pretty flat tho. Makes you wonder if there is something to the idea of staying in rhythm vs having a break and trying to get back in rhythm, despite rest intuitively feeling useful.

Edwards will show up with a lack of energy more often than you think. He did it during the season sometimes and I can't figure it out. Maybe it has something to do with his life outside of basketball? I remember he'd do it off and on in the Nuggets series last playoffs then some during the Mavs series. I agree though...should keep it in the locker room. It saves some extra drama/stress so it doesn't take away from the focus of the team. I see Edwards played big minutes and put up big numbers so I think Finch might be crazy.

Well, the list is well known by now, no need to repeat it for the hundredth time. But you tell yourself whatever you need to.

There's no "list".
I was right about giannis - he's an unskilled bum
I was right about Klay - he was done and trash, so my troll was basically correct.
That's it. That's all you got... On the flipside, the list of things I've been right about is longer than my... well, it's really long
