Funny how Carlisle is never mentioned with the great coaches, when he has proven again and again that he is probably the best offensive coach in the league.
His Mavs teams sucked defensively but were great offensively. Same now with Pacers.

In game 2 the Pacers played some of the best full court press defense I've seen in the NBA in a long time.

You are right. I remember him turning the Jerry Stackhouse-Ben Wallace Detroit Pistons into a ECF and building the base of the team that would become known as "Bad Boys II", who went on to 6 straight ECF. Then he did a great job in Indiana (60 win season) until the "Malice at the Palace" happened. And again he did a great job in Dallas culminating with the championship in 2011. He is been almost 25 years at a very high level, it is very difficult to be that constant and good for that long. Underrated coach in my opinion. Maybe he lacks the high profile of Erik Spoelstra, Doc Rivers, Tyronn Lue, etc.

He's been great every where he's gone. Coach of the 2011 Mavs too. Probably would've won the championship with Indy too back in like 2005 if not for malice in the palace.

Out of that list Spo is the only legit one. Doc and Lue are jokes. Carlisle deserves to be up there with Larry Brown, Don Nelson, Pop, Phil, etc. He's as good as anybody.

He probably didn't like Luka's heliocentric basketball and knew they could be much better if Luka learned to play off ball like Curry and Jordan.

I thought post malice was his best job. Lost 3 of his top players and took them to the playoffs
