Camera angles is a major reason 90s were better

Back in the 90s, you typically had a higher view of the court, which made you see more of the spacing and plays, while today they have a much lower camera angle, which makes the game seem more chaotic.

They probably did that because you were watching on a square CRT screen at 480p and it was harder to tell one pixel from the other if the camera was lower. Now every is rocking at least a cheap 55 inch screen or higher.

In any case I could care less, 1080p and 4K resolutions have been a great upgrade compared to CRT technology. I'll take the worse camera angles if that means we get high definition. I like to be able to see Jimmy Butler walk to the bench and see that he shit himself.

I think OP is wrong about the close-up shots - everything about today's camera footage is worse.
