Pepperidge Farm Remembers.....
All Centers aren't the same.......dont you ever! compare this 7-22, 8-25, 6-16 bch! to Hakeem the dream Olajuwon again. If Hartenstein and lil' Chet Holmgren can do this to him....Imagine! what the 90's,80's, 70's, and 60's Centers would of did to him. IMAGINE!
Shut down by Hartenstein :yaohappy:
Better than Shaq and Hakeem tho!

This narrative is so weird.
Every decade has produced elite top 10 players from Russell and Wilt, to Kareem, to Magic and Bird, to Pippen, to Duncan and Shaq and Lebron.
But somehow the best player of the 20s, in the most global era with the most basketball prospects and the most advanced scouting, and the most financial incentives for players to train and succeed... somehow the best player of that era isnt gonna be as good as the greats from before?
Think of how dumb that sounds just logically. And look who agreed with you. GOBB? RRR3?
Think about it...

Yall claim they arent good. Im the only one who thinks they are good on the entire website apparently. So why should i mention them when you think they are bums?
the bums are playing like bums right? So, no need to mention them.
We not gonna start moving the goalpost. We gonna stick with our stance. Jokic is a top 10 player, who is carrying pretty much the 07 cavs. To all these playoff runs. So dont switch up when they start playing like the bums you always claim they are. Constantly.....In every thread.....
Remember Playoff Harden > Murray....remember? you said that? the vote was 50-1 that this website would rather have playoff harden over playoff murray.
So dont bring him up when he plays bad. Bring up the top 4 player ever. Everything is on his shoulders. Him shooting 30% the last 3 games is on his plump shoulders

Somehow Jokic was still +1 on the court.
Westbrook was -20 and Murray -12... they killed the game for Denver.
I was about to cash out in the 3rd quarter because it felt like OKC was choking, but then the announcers pointed out how exhausted the Nuggets and particularly Murray was. Gasping for air, and the results showed in the 4Q.
Kept my pretty penny. :pimp:
Almost bitched out though.

Westbrook hasn't even been playing stupid. He's been smart in 95% of decisions. It's just his lack of shooting and spacing cripples the offense. You're playing 4v5.

Westbrook is shooting better from 3 and the field than Jokic this series.....Come up with another narrative. That storyline wont work this time. It gotta be someone you can blame...come on....hustle....think...."who can i blame?"

Hes been shooting well until today, but every Nugget started out bricking. They began the game I believe 2-19.
Offensively the Nuggets are clearly the better team in terms of executing and getting what they want. But that doesnt mean they always knock down the shot.
Denver played the better game today, if it wasnt for that highly anomalous shooting slump to start the game they win by 10 points. But makes and misses are part of basketball. OKC didnt shoot all that well either but theyre sort of an average shooting team anyway. So it wasnt as much of an anomaly. Denver is normally one of the most efficient shooting groups in the game.
Most people arent really gonna go any more granular into the analysis than just looking at the result of the most recent game and claiming thats who the better team is. But every game doesnt reflect the matchup equally. Individual games are bound to produce statistical anomalies of one sort or another.

They leave Westbrook wide open to double all the other action bro.
If he goes 2-12 on that its ****ing game over. You dont understand how spacing and defense works.

True but you also have to look at the fact they were playing like 42 hours after the last game which ended in OT.
No legs kills jump shots. And all scoring tbh. The Thunder came out slow too. WhiteHammer predicted this spot on and I rarely see gems like that posted here to tip me off.

No doubt. Im just saying Denver gets the better shots, more open looks, basically every game. Their offensive level is higher, the execution of their actions is more effective than OKC. But, if the shots dont fall, it's all for naught. As was the case today.

Totally agree. OKC goes into iso mode way more often and they're honestly lucky to have come back. Their youth and the Denver being gassed was the difference at the end. The super short break could've changed everything but hey I'll take a close 2-2 series.

OP going HAM on the haters.
Sheesh.
After seeing Jokic these past few games, there's no way I can put him ahead of Duncan, Shaq, or Hakeem all time.
Can Jokic change my mind by stepping up and winning this series while playing great?
Maybe, but I think his choke today ended the series. We'll see.

I thought about this storyline before the series but them not playing the same position takes a lot out of it. It paled in comparison to Robinson and Hakeem plus there was plenty of other stuff to focus on so I dropped it.

and how do you think jokic gets his threes? he damn sure aint being thrown the ball behind the 3 point line and told "Huh, go create a shot from 3"
Jamal Murray is throwing him the ball off the pick and pop.wide....the hell......open.... or someone else is passing him the ball and he just catches it and shoots.....wide....the hell....open
He aint no fking joel embiid. you cant just give him the ball @ the 3 and say create your own shot.... off the dribble....without a mismatch..... for an entire game.... come on man. its levels to this....yall know that. Dont let playing with Jamal Murray fool you. we know what happens when they go head up with each other.....we know the most likely outcome....but lets stay on topic

Why am i arguing smh. I can never take a website who voted 50-1 that they'd rather have James Harden than Jamal Murray in the playoffs.... 50 to 1.....I just cant. and its no doubt in my mind if i made the same exact thread again Harden would win again. How could you ever take a debate with people like that serious.
Good fight....Good night

Hakeem was nasty. I think the only reason I have Shaq over him is that 3 title wins in 4 appearance run he had. Where he flat out demolished competition.

Not nearly the same.
Hakeem was 5th in MVP voting on a 46 win team. David's Spurs had the best record in the league.

I remember that series against DRob which may have been the best series I've seen from anyone. I also remember a lot of first round exits. At his best he was as good as anyone but he didn't always bring it and tended to settle for jumpers too often. At times he was a bit of a black hole and could be a bit surly.

OKC arguably has the best defense over the last 20 years or so. Jokic is no doubt struggling, but OKC had a historic season and are massive favorites.
Denver winning this series would be an absurd upset.
It's just silly to think this series somehow ruins Jokic while every other all-time great had bad playoff series.

Sorry but it's true. Basketball is a fundamentally different game now and this brand of coaching is totally alien to what we had before. The players aren't putting emphasis on the same fundamentals or the same skill sets.
So yea there's more talent now on average, but there's zero fundamentals. That's a problem. Like I always say remove the 3pt line and 80% of the league becomes totally useless overnight. It's also why when a team's shot isn't falling they have no chance to win the game and lose by 30. They know nothing else.
As for Jokic, he is a great player so he would be great in any era, but he just doesn't have anywhere near the quickness, speed, technique or fluidity of Olajuwon. People chalk it up to nothing but aesthetics, but they're wrong because it actually shows the level of ease at which they can score. It looks beautiful because they make something that is extremely difficult look easy.
You can feed the ball to Olajuwon in the post and he can get off a clean turnaround in a split second without even dribbling, could Jokic?

Ridiculous, their run through the West wasn't easy at all. Despite their low seeding, the Suns & Lakers were far from an easy out, and the Wolves were tough for an 8 seed. The Heat were obv pretty weak.

Yea I was gonna say what is he talking about. The Nuggets were @ +1800 odds to win the title in 2023. There were 8 teams ahead of them in the odds including teams they ended up beating. People just be making shit up, and then he's gonna dig his toes into the sand after. :lol

It's objectively one of the weaker runs ever going off opponent Net Rating. Two decent opponents and two trash ones. The Wolves were nowhere near what they became in 2024.

I don't understand the recency bias. Why don't we wait until their careers are over (or nearly over like Lebron) before rushing to hail whoever latest favorite Top ## ALL-TIME? Top 10 should be reserved for those who dominated for a long time AND won a lot - after all, the goal of the game is to win the championship and Top 10 is the best of the best. And imo, Jokic just ain't there yet but talk like this is disrespectful and gets people riled up.

That doesnt actually tell me how good the opponents were though. It could have been a very strong year for the league and net rating will take a hit.
The lakers were a powerhouse after the trades.
