I'm not sure it's a trade you do in today's NBA if you're Dallas. Guys on rookie deals who can contribute to winning are just too valuable.

The Bucks would presumably want all of Dallas' youth in the haul. Flagg, Lively, Christie. It's gonna leave you with an older group of fairly injury prone superstars on hugely expensive contracts. *Could* that group win a chip? Yeah. But could it be an absolute disaster if guys get hurt? Also yeah.

I personally think it makes more sense to keep the young guys along with the vets and try to make some noise that way. If everyone's healthy this could be a very good team next year. Irving, Klay, Flagg, Davis, Gafford? It's definitely nice on paper. And they've got depth too with Christie, Naji, Lively, Hardy. That team could have some mojo workin.

LA absolutely didn't deserve Luka and Dallas absolutely didn't deserve Flagg. I'm disgusted. The East will be a shithole for the next decade.

I want some kind of assurance the NBA didn't just rig all this horseshit up for ratings.

Kyrie's knee injury has to be real. But they could've easily taken advantage and sent the best college player I have ever seen to Dallas while Dallas still has national attention on them from this nonsense.

Flagg's about to be the biggest star since LeBron. So there is a method to this absolute madness.

I'm with you. I think Flagg will be a great NBA player and make some all-star teams, but I don't think he's going to be generational talent everyone says where he's competing for MVPs for multiple years. If I'm wrong, good for him. I'm not trying to hate on him. I just think he's overhyped.

Overhyped for sure... He's definitely not gonna be MVP material... and if so... that's 7-10 years from now and it probably won't be in a Mavs uniform.

He doesn't pass the eye test in my opinion... but neither did Dirk ... so we will see what happens.


I still miss Luka, and winning the lottery does not redeem the terrible, evil, atrocious sin this organization committed of trading him to the Lakers.... but not gonna lie, it does help win me back over just a little bit. lol. Mavs got lucky af.

It’s for sure a bad trade. You’re trading Luka for someone you hope will be as good? Doesn’t make sense. Plus if you aren’t a desirable destination like LA, you have to take into consideration the player’s willingness to play there. Luka bought a house and was ready for the long haul. And AD is too old, his timeline isn’t going to match up with Flagg’s prime. Gotta trade him for assets or young pieces.

The only part I disagree with is Cooper being overhyped. He started the season as a 17 year old, his maturity level and skill is incredible.
