2002 WCF was not rigged. I'm convinced the people who say this are just Laker haters. All Kings had to do was make their FTs. Chris Webber, a ~75% FT shooter that year shot 46% in that series. They could've won Game 7 but choked at home. They made 16 out of 30 FTs at home in a Game 7. Peja airballed a wide open corner 3 that would've won them the series. Refs even pushed it to OT for them.


As far as the draft lottery goes it's always had insane outcomes that make no sense given the odds. We've only had the lottery for 40 years and like every other year a team with like 1-4% odds ends up getting the #1 pick. How do the same teams (Hornets & Wizards) keep getting robbed over & over again despite sucking every year?

Also how is it that every time a franchise gets new ownership they end up winning the draft? This happened to the Pelicans with AD and now the Mavs. And Pelicans won the lottery again once they traded AD to the Lakers, same as the Mavs who gave up their mid-20s superstar to LA. Lottery is the easiest thing to rig you can't really influence a live game to the point where you 100% control the outcome.

the rules of the game are flawed. refs are unable to execute the rules fairly for decades. scandals every season but not spoken on by nba spokespersons 99 times out of 100. at least other sports have clear rules.

The NBA has been fixing things since the '80s. Look at how the Knicks got Ewing, or how Orlando ended up getting both Penny and Shaq. They were helping MJ win titles. By 2000, Shaq and Kobe got what was par for the course at that point with the league. It has only continued since.
