Hate to see it.

He was playing great.

I'd keep him out all next year if I was Boston.

Legit question. Why was Tatum in so much pain? You saw Kobe, Lillard, & KD with the same injury and they barely showed any emotion.

Is there something I'm missing?

If it’s as bad as it Appears to be next season is obviously over as well and the Celtics cost $514 million with the luxury tax next year.

I’m sure it sucks for some to think about it but they really might break up the team just like that. Not a complete rebuild of course but can you ask an ownership group to spend abillion running it back for two years Out of respect for what they accomplished in a postseason where they went three straight rounds without having to eliminate a franchise player?

Did that run prove enough to just run it back till you can’t run it back anymore?

Would be hilarious after all that if it turned out to just be something like a stubbed toe and he was good to go for game 5.

I'm pulling for the least severity possible, not just bc Tatum's a good guy but also bc then it will make the reaction kinda classic. Up there in the lore with Pierce and Wade.

You really can't. NBA is a business first. Don't know enough about the new ownership to tell whether they'll ever spend as much as the former one did though. No need for the Celtics to panic even if it's worse case scenario and Tatum has a torn achilles. He should be back for the Playoffs next year and the team is good enough to get a 3-5 seed without him. They're not bad enough to tank for a season. I'm guessing they get rid of Zingis or Jrue and run it back.

Surprised Meticode isn’t in here celebrating the injury.

Maybe Cleveland getting hit made him slow his roll.

So you’re critical of a guy showing emotion after an injury where his team is down 2-1 at the time in a series? Legit question why are you even questioning his display of emotion?

The team is definitely close to cracking at all edges.

Brown for sure will take over the team now, unless he is traded, Tatum will find it difficult to come back.

Horford can't keep defying father time, eventually will be cooked.

Porzingis the same, why isn't he playing? Probably is on the downturn of his career.

Derrick White is 30, Jrue is 34, Horford is 38, Porzingis is 29.

Some pruning of the team has to happen. Do they keep faith in Porzingis and Jrue? Will Derrick White want to stick around?

I'm not critical at all and I knew some people like you were going to take it that way. He seemed to be in excruciating pain while the others who tore their Achilles looked more confused about it. I'm wondering if the other players who tore it were partial ruptures while Tatum probably had a complete tear of the Achilles.

People have different pain tolerance. Same thing with ACLs. People cry and grab at their knee, while others can still move fine on it.

Right because asking a bunch of posters to diagnose trauma Achilles injury to determine if it’s a partial or fully torn injury. And in turn determine partial (not crying) vs fully (crying in agony) is the way to go. Then listing players who had Achilles injuries as if you can’t find out if their injuries were partial or full? You’re legit asking this board to give honest thoughts?

Or was it a subtle way to poke fun at Tatum showing agony and tears being carried off in a wheelchair? Yeah I’m low IQ. Foh coward hiding under an alt.

You are so angry. lmao. None of my comments were a shot at Tatum, you are just a bitter man with female tendencies who looks for an argument every chance you get. You did it in the NFL draft thread as well, basically calling the NFL racist just because Sanders fell in the draft.

Post where I said the nfl was racist for not drafting Sanders.

You’re the same clown who will fun to find links to support your opinion that you pass off as facts. Yet in this case? You don’t? Let me know what I’m missing….

Dudes are frauds here. Get called out and tap dance. “It’s a legit and honest question. Just curious why he is in so much pain whereas the others I named weren’t. Any genuine guesses?”. You just don’t want no one to call you out for making fun of a player injured. So you mask it up in hopes other idiots on this site would do your dirty work. That’s female tendencies at its finest. When you’re finished squatting as you tinkle. Copy and paste what you refer to about the nfl is racist posts.

There are different ways that it can tear and sometimes one can hurt more than another. And that's not necessarily partial vs complete, but potentially where it's torn, angle of tear. All of that. Many factors.

But I'd imagine the crying was more out of emotion knowing he now doesn't have a shot at another ring, and that his career could potentially look different. Worst possible time for an injury like this as he was having an amazing game too.

Had zero pain when I tore my achilles but that sudden realization what you have to do to recover from the injury hits hard especially for guys who play the game for a living.
