Seems logical for him to want to move on. Everything is so inconsistent with his effort and playing time. He could be a legit third option if he played consistently. Maybe a new view unlocks his potential.

Why wouldn't Kerr play a young, athletic 7th? pick who can drive to the basket? Why did Kerr play scrub Anthony Lamb over Kuminga when Wiggins went MIA? He shoulda played Kuminga 40 minutes a night - after all he was well-rested from not playing the round before. They deserve to lose him.

The reason I get is when he's put into a role that constrains his talents (reduced minutes on the bench) he hurts the team and makes bad decisions.

I don't know if this is the case.

When he started this season he dropped 17/5/2/1/1 on 45/32 with only averaging 28 MPG in ten games.

He shoots more FGA per minute than Kevin Durant and he scored at efficiency well below league average.

He is a sub 70% FT Shooter.

He doesn’t have a 3 ball, doesn’t space the floor.

Inconsistent D defense. Can be a good man defender at times but not consistent. Also an atrocious team defender.

Very poor rebounder for PF.

Black hole, poor passing.

So you have a one dimensional inefficient scorer who doesn’t defend, space, pass, or rebound well.

He’s an athletic freak but didn’t start playing basketball till a teenager. And he still hasn’t figured it out, or even come close.

He’s not good at basketball.

This is the most coherent post I’ve ever seen from this guy :lol

But yes the Net’s supposedly are the only team with enough Cap room for the Warriors to pull off a S&T

I have a feeling he’s gonna walk for nothing though

PJ isn’t great but actually knows how to play basketball. He is also locked into a cheap contract for a few more years.

During the trade deadline PJ was more perused than JK.

You didn’t watch any Warriors all year besides a few random playoff games where Curry was out and it was basically 24/7 garbage time with no real offense being ran where Kuminga put up empty stats in a loss.

Not trying to be an asshole but it is seriously the lowest iq take i’ve seen here in quite awhile. Which like I said is pretty impressive.

Sounds almost like Kawhi when he was drafted at #15 - RAW, couldn't shoot or pass - nothing really but big hands and raw athleticism. And Kerr expected improvement sitting on the bench - constantly passed over by scrubs? Kuminga looked good to me after Steph got injured - the only Warrior with any kind of advantage on the athletic end - what a refreshing change instead of the Kerr's cherished 3 ball. vs MIN:

Not to compare but Duncan and Hakeem didn't start playing basketball until they were teenagers - that's not something imo that should be held against Kuminga. If anything, it's even more promising that he's a late starter and had so much to learn (not possible on the bench).

sorry, this was meant for previous post.

It’s possible but Kawhi is more of the exception not the rule. The biggest difference is Kawhi played basketball as a child and also played college ball. He had solid fundamentals, a good basketball foundation to build with. Kuminga had the opposite as he grew up in Africa and didn’t pick up a basketball till a teenager. He also didn’t play college ball which could have helped him greatly over him skipping it to go straight to G league ignite.

He did show flashes of greatness in the Minnesota series but over the 4 years I have watched a lot of Kuminga and that is what he gives you. He will show flashes of an absolute star and then will make some decisions that make him unplayable.

I’m pretty sure Kerr has tried all he can with Kuminga. When people point to erratic olaying time I don’t think it’s Kerr’s fault. Kuminga will make blown defensive assignments or start ball stopping and a timeout needs to get called and he needs to get yanked. It’s usually not one thing. He compounds his mistakes and then has to get benched. Jimmy trade was a bad break for JK too as Jimmy took a lot of his minutes.

Maybe he could have developed differently on a tanking team where he gets tons of burn every night. But at the same time I don’t think it would be great for his development if he just got to do whatever out there and play sloppy ball. I think he would turn into one of the guys people call “empty stats”.

He had a chance in Golden State to learn how to play in a championship level offensive and defensive system and like you said, maybe basically become a young kawhi type player and keep building from there. It just didn’t pan out. It’s a shame Kuminga didn’t grow up playing basketball. I think it would have made a big difference.

I think the main difference is both Duncan and Hakeem played a lot of high level college ball. That is huge in my book.

I'm biased towards 2010's superstars so GS drafting like shit and preventing their 2010's Spurs arc is kinda sad.

But **** it. Kuminga was a blatantly shitty pick in retrospect. I can't believe GS drafted a guy this low IQ for their system. There were so many better options in his draft class, it's really insane.

Moses Moody also sucks, but at least he's improved and works hard to do so.

If Warriors drafted Hali and Wagner, they're probably going through their 3rd or 4th chip post-KD era right now.

It’s so easy to say that. Using the same logic we never get Steph.

I did like Haliburton pre draft because he was a very good shooter. I think he was slotting at mid first round though. At the time I wasn’t (or nobody really) was pulling for Warriors to get Tyrese.
