Does the NBA do good this year now that there is parity in the finals? NY is still a big market so I'm thinking if they make it to the finals then yes, otherwise do we think alot of people are going to watch MIN/OKC vs IND ?

Remember, the NBA NEEDS players that fans love to watch other than Lebron & Steph going forward.

It is a tricky balance, because every owner wants their team to have a shot to compete. But on the other hand ratings probably do benefit from big market dynasties.

Everything has its tradeoffs.

If Indy makes it the ratings will be absolutely abysmal. The Knicks will draw in at minimum standard Finals ratings.

Pacers T Wolves would have the worst ratings of the 4 possible matchups.

Why do you think OKC would be a bigger draw? Minneapolis is a much larger city.

OKC have been talked about a lot more this season between having the league's best record and its presumed MVP.

Casuals (and I dont mean that in a derogatory sense per se) wanna see teams that other people are talking about/watching. They might not care about the basketball itself but if something is "a story" theyre gonna be more inclined to tune in.

Oklahoma City either fulfilling their season destiny in the Finals or succumbing to heartbreak in the Finals will be a bigger story than whatever the TWolves do. The Wolves have had no storyline this year. They're just a good solid team who play better without their starting center. It's not really anything that's on the casual fan's radar.

Because the whole world watches the Finals, not just the fans who live in the city??

Wolves - Knicks would be the biggest draw and would probably do better than the last two finals IMO, especially because I'd see that one go 6 at minimum if no one's hurt.

I didn't put OKC because they have the MVP. I think that alone will draw more eyes, even if Ant does have a following of his own.

Take it from someone who clearly can act out multiple roles here, and who exists on the periphery of hollyweird …

… the casual motivation for consumption of our beloved sport, is actually as pathetic & gay as he just described here. Jesus Christ, is that a disgusting revelation, IMHO. Gonna go hit the heavy bag.

Let's hope it is Wolves vs Knicks and not OKC vs Pacers.

OKC vs Pacers is not going to be a draw. Doubt I will watch every game of t.
