Triple-double skillsets like Lebron/Jokic/Luka always "need more help" because....

they lack dominant scoring/clutch and monopolize the action on offense, so teammates rarely play their best.. the story of Jokic, Lebron, Luka and other famous triple-double guys is that their teammates play like dogsh*t every year, so the team "needs more help"...

But they have plenty of help because Jokic has a 25 ppg scorer in Murray but simply struggles to get the most out of him... And for Lebron to make his first playoffs, he needed the East all-star center and an acquisition that was better than 1990 Pippen on both sides of the ball.

Accordingly, these guys and their 28/10/10 skillsets are bad basketball players compared to dominant scorers and 33/5/5 skillset (MJ, Kobe, Curry, Hakeem, etc).. Clutch assassins

High assists is simply the most overrated stat in basketball - it doesn't win without ridiculous help and underachieves a roster's talent (aka 5-4 Finals record with Kareem is BAD, not good).. Guys that average over 8 assists almost never win as the leading scorer - you don't want your leading scorer to be a ball-dominator.. The only reason that SGA might win is that it's become a league of ball-dominators, so one of them has to win.

Jordan had no all-star caliber player like Jokic and Lebron did for their entire careers...

The instant he got an all-star, he was unbeatable, and he's the only player like this - everyone else needed bevies of all-stars and won much less.

Ultimately, only MJ won multiple series against top teams with weak scoring & efficiency from a sidekick, so he carried weak help over top teams, while no one else did aside from a few one-offs.

But otherwise, SGA must face an off-guard with 40% assisted rate (Ant), and then a regular primary ball-handler (Haliburton), not a high-scoring primary ball-handler, aka ball-dominater (that has high volume of unassisted buckets that kill ball movement)
