I cant think of anyone who for years is such an obvious detriment to the team. No one continues to get big minutes like that.

And hes doing it on contending teams :lol

correct, but that does not excuse jokic's lackluster performance in a game 7 being guarded by a 6'5 alex caruso.

Yeah, Im a little less high on Jokic after this series than before, tbh. Just slightly.

But hes been pretty perfect in the playoffs so far, so this is no big knock on him.

There's never been another former MVP who's become such a detriment to their team. The closest comparison would be Kobe who was garbage his last 3 years, but he at least was mostly missing games while playing on awful teams, but even someone like Iverson, once he fell off, he was out of the league almost immediately.

It's amazing how 5 different teams since 2020 have given him a shot now, all of them playoff contenders, and he's proceeded to crash and burn with all of them, spectacularly so in the playoffs.

I do wonder if Denver decides to part ways with him if another team, or at least a contending one, will decide to pick him up.

I think the fact he has no shame at all, about anything…. Allows him to keep his self-confidence, even in skills he still lacks after all these years, inexplicably sky high. And some owners/GM’s can be really fooled by a player who is still in great physical condition, with insanely extreme confidence (warranted or not)

Say it with me. A lot of NBA GMs, if not most, are bad at their jobs. Many many players, including all time greats who have higher basketball IQ than myself, frequently have a massive misunderstanding of other players abilities and talents and how pieces of a team are assembled and what makes a good team.

There are many different aspects to and types of intelligence. For whatever reason, in NBA front offices, a substantial number of people in decision making positions or whose voices matter are severely lacking in this aspect. Don't ask me why, I don't know.

He's definitely not. Was great in his role in the RS and helped them get out of the 1st round.

It was always baffling to me that people ripped Carmello Anthony but we all saw this Westbrook problem coming.

There probably isn't another player in the league that single-handedly cost their own team as many games.

Its so weird. Why is he not taking on a smaller role somewhere else? He must know he sucks.

Melo was better than Westbrook.

Melo was a chucker and hed miss a lot of shots late career.

But he didnt make all these boneheaded crazy plays and lose you 10 points in 2 minutes.

He didnt choke so many FTs and open shots and layups and do weird stuff when open. Or run into defenders, get blocked by the rim, etc.

Russ is just confused out there.

Let me guess, he was the reason the Nuggets had no depth right? He got paid too much.

Lebron stans and laker retards are toxic as hell, they deserve each other.

Without Westbrook this year, the Nuggets may have been a lottery team. Certainly no better than a play-in.

There probably isn't another player in the league that single-handedly cost their own team as many games.

He's a vet minimum player who played well above his contract in the RS, especially during the period that Murray was out. He exceeded expectations against the Clippers which helped Denver win that series. Jokic underperformed in 4 out of 7 games vs OKC which is why they ultimately failed to win that series. A role player having a bad shooting series is nothing new.

Don't blame the back-up PG, blame the "top 4 all-time player" and "the greatest offensive player ever" for averaging 21.3 ppg on 33% shooting w/ 5 assists to 5.3 TOS for a 3-game span (1-2 record, bailed out once) when he was expected to carry his team.

His salary doesn't mean anything. He could take a negative salary and pay them to be on the court and he would still be overpaid because he would still be the same player making the same stupid decisions and same momentum killing/game killing plays.

I remember in travel basketball if somebody made a really stupid mistake they'd get yanked. Westbrook for some reason just has a really long leash. It's bizarre.

He even hoodwinked me. I thought maybe he could have a fluke performance where he does well but he stomped on my dreams yet again.

Wrong, he was effective to start the season then from around February to end the regular season he went back to being the Westbrick we know. Was an absolute disaster in the OKC series.

He's one of the most frustrating players to watch

Love his passion and energy but his reckless turnovers and inefficient shot selection makes you want to pull your hair out :facepalm

This is more on the front office than WB. You shouldn't sign a min contract no one else wants and expect to play him major minutes every game.

I admit it is kind of laughable to expect more from him when he makes less than 6 players on the Nuggets roster. Look at them first.
