I think it's time for everyone to move on from the stretch 5.
Jokic, Embiid, KAT... these guys are too skilled to be hanging out at the 3pt line. It's actually ridiculous watching sometimes. Everytime KAT gets the ball out deep and drives to the lane it's a horror show.
These teams today have zero anchor offensively. It's just swing the ball around til you find a guy. Joker to his credit actually can be an offensive anchor but half the time he has the ball 23 feet out and he becomes just another guy. Now he has to settle for a bomb. Sorry but you're not Curry. Not only that there are like 7 guys on this team who can do the exact same thing. If you're a big and you can shoot 3's, that's fantastic, but that's not why you're useful buddy. Maybe you should reserve the 3's for plan B when plan A doesn't work. Not only that but you would be freeing up shooters more regularly.
The analytics craze not only creates system players, it creates system coaches. Look what happens when the 3's aren't falling, the team goes into total shut down mode. They just keep heaving 3's. These coaches have no other plan. Not a single one of them has the wits to say hey maybe we should work towards high percentage baskets. This is like common sense stuff here and I'm just a fan, so if I could see it I don't know why they don't see it.
