Scoring champ on high efficiency, quality defensive contributor, leader of a very young team that finished first in the league.

Acknowledging he had a great season and fit well enough the criteria voters have always tended toward, doesnt mean you are now forced to agree to any notion that he's the game's best player. You can still like whatever guy you like better. You can disagree with the typical voter criteria too and still accept it's what they use and he fit it.

You could have given Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, and Harden's MVPs all to Lebron if you wanted to (I might argue KD, Steph and Giannis' awards as well but lets not open that can of worms). Those guys were never the leagues best player. But voters dont wanna give it to the same guy over and over. Theres plenty of precedent for that. Jokic had a great season. In most rational peoples eyes hes still the best overall player. But MJ and Lebron didnt win every year, so you shouldnt be surprised that neither is Jokic. If you "voted" (or preferred) Jokic, thats fair. But an SGA result is also fair. Just live with it and go on with your lives. No reason anyone should be in a huff over this, unless it's about the fact that in all honest truth, Lebron probably should have won this year.
