I have seen Pacers' playoff opponents on forums (Bucks, Cabs & Knicks) marveling on how amazing Pacers are as a team with their fast pace ball and having little bit of luck to their side. I never saw media or experts disrespecting Pacers' chances to reach NBA Finals.
As I said: Were Pacers always the biggest favorite to come out from the Eastern Conference?

I called it at the beginning of the season. TJ McConnell took Hali under his wing and taught him how to run an offense. He also taught him how to hit clutch shots vs the Knicks.

Look familiar? Obviously Haliburton's shot is far less significant and won't have the same cultural impact, but his turn around shot was an honorable homage to his father figure TJ.

I believe they were not always the favorite, no.

I never called it. I had them losing to the Cavs in 5 from the beginning of the playoffs. I was wrong about the Celtics and Cavs like 99% of people.

People wrote them off after their slow start, but over the last 55 games, they had the same record at the Cavs.
They should've been looked at as a threat, but people overlooked them.
As a Celtics fan, had we gotten past the Knicks, I would've rather played the Cavs than the Pacers.

Yes, the team that was the underdog the last 2 series was always the biggest favorite to come out of the East

Nobody picked the Pacers to win anything.
