Inside the NBA posted a tribute to the 1950 draft class last night featuring the first black players to be drafted into the NBA. Shaq says that Chuck Cooper, one of the draftees, came to visit LSU when he was there and gave the kids a talk. Only problem is Shaq was at LSU from 1989-1992. Chuck Cooper died in 1984 when Shaq was 11. Notice when Ernie asks for more info about the talk, Shaq mumbles and doesnt say anything :facepalm

It reminds me of this story that you see do the rounds on social media frequently.

Now I fully believe Shaq's stepdad did take him down and show him a homeless person to make the point as that was the kind of man he was by all accounts. But I don't believe for one second Shaq fixed the guy up with an apartment and job and that he was mowing his lawn in Orlando. Shaq has a million stories of his generosity, all told by him of course.

We all know Shaq isn't the best when recalling memories. Most likely got him confused with another player.

Shaq said some NBA player died like right before the playoffs started and they're alive and well. Turner had to issue an apology.

Everyone lies. And everyone misremembers. I'm sure Shaq does both. Especially with the life he's lived and the amount of people he's met throughout his life.
