Copy and pasted from Reddit:

Gobert played under 30 minutes in 13/15 playoff games this season.

He had double digit rebounds in 4/15 playoff games. double digit points in 3/15 playoff games.

The Wolves cannot make the leap while paying that much money to a playoff liability.

It's still so funny this guy looked like Wilt against the Lakers  Truly embarrassing. Great defender obviously, but on offense he's pretty damn bad.

Mitchell averaged roughly 34/6/4 in that series and he was playing injured. Plus all his best teammates were hurt as well. How is that his fault? Context bro context.

Since he led in oRTG and dRTG, he must have led the team in minutes due to how valuable he is, right?

It’s amazing you can lose by 1 dropping 48/9 with your second, third, and fourth leading scorer all out…one of them also being the DPOY…and still get called out. Whole supporting cast out or playing hurt most of the series and the only story for the whole season is that you lost.

The crazy rate of injuries lately has me so tuned out.

Even when the better team wins the whole exercise feels like a waste.

Play a whole year to come down to who came down on a foot.

Rudy Gobert, oh how he tried,
In the playoffs, his game went Xiao-ward, wide.
Against the Thunder, he stumbled and fell,
His defense, once stout, just didn’t gel.

Blocks were scarce, his moves were slow,
Fans in the stands groaned, “Oh no, not now!”
The rim he guarded, but shots flew by,
His playoff dreams sank with a weary sigh.

Rebounds slipped from his hands, oh wow,
Thunder’s pace left him lost, somehow.
Gobert’s tower, once mighty and proud,
Crumbled in OKC’s lightning-loud crowd.

I don’t think anyone is likely to win with an injured 2-3-4 scorer so that isn’t worth evaluating. If empty stats just means playing well while losing virtually everyone who plays well is empty stats almost every season. It’s just a nothing argument.

But it’s all know little fans have left.

Same shit every year. Gianni’s, Steph, or whoever.

Teammates out for key games or hobbled and fans who have nothing of weight to add act like the injuries didn’t make a difference.

Like 5 teams a year have their seasons utterly wasted because of freak incidents and chronic conditions and it’s just made the playoffs such a bore. Games can still be good but when the Celtics, Cavs, Bucks, Warriors and Memphis all lose players who make them entirely different teams in key games I just can’t pretend the outcome is that indicative of the teams ability.

I watch it because I watch basketball but…I have no idea who the best teams are in the end. Just the most fortunate among those who have an argument. Last year like 5 hall of famers watched their teams get eliminated from the bench and it just ruins the whole idea of using the outcome to settle anything.

1st game garland was out. Game 2 garland and mobley. Both at home. Great depth. Supposedly great team. 2 losses. 4 strength game 3-5. They went 1 and 2. Blame it all on injuries if it helps you sleep better. Just another huge failure for mitchell who blamed injuries in utah as well not the fact that he didnt play d or play well with others

Sleep better? I’m not the one with a clear obsession with a guy who is arguably the most mocked and laughed at athlete in the league.

I don’t particularly care who wins if the Bulls don’t. But I don’t want to watch broken teams in the playoffs and hear coverage that has to pretend it didn’t happen to play up the legitimacy of the outcome and importance of the remaining games.

The shit is just annoying. And it’s more prevalent than ever. Like 10 series the last couple years with teams decimated by injury. Just an utter waste of time.

Liking a player is an obsession? Im not the one that make threads about him.

There have always been injuries. Guys used to play through them. I thought stockton was done abouy half way through his career when he sucked in the playoffs. After he retired found out he couldnt lift his arm above his shoulder.

Cavs went 1-2 at full strength. Indiana was the better team. Ubtil mitchell buys in at both ends he will just be eye candy for you guys that love big numbers

You can't pay someone who shows up once per series on offense (and showing up is a very low standard for toody, im talking 10+ points here) 40+ million a year with the new cap rules, it's going to be tough to contend unless you got a bunch of young players on rookie deals like OKC.

Rudy carried teams in his prime yeah but he's in his 30s now and getting worse offensively. It's not gonna work with this Wolves roster IMO just not enough offense around Ant and Randle.

He had two bad games sure but that's typical for a player like Randle, he at least shows up for most of the POs offensively. Even with the two no-shows he averaged 17.4 on 62.8%TS.

It's easy to say Toody led them in ORTG or whatever in this series when they benched him while already losing with him on the court, he played just 26 mpg for a reason. If he was as good as you're saying he wouldn't get benched in close Playoff games.

Toody's just not THAT valuable in a 3PT chucking era. You could say the same about a player like Draymond but Draymond is far more versatile than Gobert on both ends.

If he wasnt valuable theyd be attacking the rim when he was in the game instead of just when hes on the bench. If you cant get an open look without him screening his valuable. If you are getting extra possession hes valuable. If hes getting fouled because they have to pay attention to him hes valuable.
